Is there any update on 4.3 for the S3?

My beef is that there is so much silence about this update it makes one think that sprint doesn't care to have people work on verifying the update because they want to sell new phones to people or there is that big of a communication break that the high ups are thinking new profit and not sustained customers (look at the iPhone gamble that isn't working). We use to get at least a projected quarter for update which for the most part was really nice to at least see they have a goal they want to meet. Most people keep phones longer than a year or the 2 year contract. The economy isn't like it was and no one really get a new phone yearly anymore....My next phone is the nexus again so i can cut out carrier/manufacture bloatware and BS. Either way it will come when its ready and i do care about getting the update because its only a year old phone, but i am definitely switching back to a nexus device...

Well, I think a majority of people who bought the GS3 in the U.S. when it came out aren't even eligible to upgrade until early 2014. So unless you buy your phones off contract which is a minority, getting a new phone isn't an option. Also factor in how many S3's have been sold over the last year and a half? There are a huge number of users out there and one would hope Sprint wants to keep these people happy.

They're already bleeding customers so why **** even more off who care about this kind of stuff.

Sad to say, looks like we might be a week or so away from the update. In my neverending quest for info, I saw that the version updated to MK3 on the Sprint RDF site. This would mean they have put together about 3 builds in the month of November so far. Some of the speculation seems to be that 4.3 has been buggy on some of the other devices (International S3 included). My guess is they are working to put out something a bit cleaner (a good thing) than just rushing to get something out.

Hint: Use IE to read, for some reason Chrome and other browsers just see a glob of words.

I just saw that the Memory was for 1 GB so that means both 1GB and 2GB will get the 4.3 update.

I just noticed this change also. Looks like they are working away at it still and are going to have a little wait before we get this still.

Because they are short sighted and only focusing in on the failed iPhone gamble....maybe?? not knocking Apple just Sprint wanted it so bad because they thought they would get lots of people and that didn't work like they wanted because there network is lacking and they can't seem to do anything right or complete one thing before starting another...Spark rollout anyone?? :) just my 2 cents...

Smurfin, I don't think the update has any relation to the iPhone gamble. This is really just a software thing and from what I can tell the delay for the S3 seems to tie back into the issues the International S3 update to 4.3 experienced. In terms of the iPhone gamble, while that is likely best suited for another thread, the worst part about that is that to just merely sell the iPhone, Sprint had to guarantee all those units. That points to larger issues in the US telecom business and Apple's ability to dictate terms.

As for your other point, I don't think enough gets said about the overall lack of quality in the network and how it seems like every 6-12 months Sprint is starting another initiative. Between Wi-Max (never fully rolled out), LTE (slowly rolling out), Network Vision (see LTE), and now Spark. Had Sprint taken the approach Verizon did (build out a really solid LTE network as quickly as possible) we might be in better shape. Instead I primarily get terrible 3G speeds because if i turn 4G on my service is spotty and rips up my battery.

Last week, we saw the chart fail to predict the Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update roll out on Sprint, a sign that it may not be as accurate as we first thought. That said, that was the Galaxy S3, an older device and one that likely required more testing given that it?s jumping up from Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, so we wouldn?t put too much stock into the fact that the chart misfired. We?re also hearing that Sprint has new builds for the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2, something that points to bugs and thus, delayed updates.

We also wouldn?t circle the AT&T and T-Mobile release dates in pen either as the software could certainly could roll out to Galaxy S4 owners sooner, or later, than those rumored dates. I SEEN THIS ON FLIPBOARD

The software, however, has rolled out slowly. The update remains unavailable in countries like the United States and Canada and thus far, carriers have been reluctant to offer information about specific dates. In fact, the only carrier in the U.S. that has confirmed an update is U.S. Cellular, the nation’s fifth larger service provider.

Rumors posted by bloggers quoting other bloggers quoting newspaper writers guessing about what Samsung is going to do.

Definitely a highly reliable report.

Agreed. I've read one article sourcing another article sourcing another article who sources nobody.

I've also read articles saying that the release has hit the UK.

I've read another that says the Note2 is being released in the US on the 20th and that perhaps the S3 will drop that day too. It's obvious they encountered issues. I would think that Sprint and Samsung would find themselves in hot water if they dropped 4.3 completely after saying it would be released by the end of the year. It'd be a PR nightmare far worse than skipping 4.2 because skipping again would basically be declaring the phone dead.

Well the leaked dates were on point for the other phones. Att is rollin out today as the leak said. Just sprints s3 is the only one so far that missed its roll out date.
