Is there anyway to adjust this "in-pocket" feature?

My phone (LG G2 VS980 4G LTE) doesn't respond to tapping on in the center of the screen when I am in a dark environment. After doing much research on this issue, I found a post that stated it was an "in-pocket" feature that prevents the phone from turning on when it is in your pocket.

This feature has become increasingly annoying and I would like to adjust or completely turn it off. Can you help?

Can you turn off the Knock On feature? Maybe that will help. Go to Settings>Device>Gestures, and uncheck Screen On/Off.
