Android Central Question

I simply need to move files from Emulated/0/yahta,yahta to giggle drive. Easy right? Guess not, for me anyway. I've tried numerous file manager apps and some can't deal with Emulated/0 or even act like paths exist some don't have a move option or doesn't include my destination in it's meger offers of where to move to. Or whatever else. Is there file manager app that can deal with moving files someone could recommend?

I'm having the same problem. I think the trouble might be trying to use software. Maybe it would be easier to just open the phone and physically move the data bits manually. I wonder if anybody's tried that.

So you figure just because, hey wait a minute, ya think the backwards approach would have occurred to me given all the sometimes odd ball stuff I've goofed with. It hadn't even occured to me to start from drive (kinda sounds like a car issue :). Getting to drive is a serious contender for biggest problem. Moderate Mustang threw the Commander app at me so I found that and stuck it in. I figured I could presume his advice is good so I'm still trying to convince that app to deal with giggle drive. I appreciate your angle on it hallux, thank you.

Google Drive is effectively a network drive, and not all file managers deal with them. But going to Google Drive (in a web browser) allows you to upload files to it. And the Google Drive app, if you tap the + icon, gives you a "new" panel. One of the "new" things you can do is upload.

Yeah Mustang, (is it ok if I call you Mustang?) we've got nearly identical situations. The biggest difference is the OP didn't have as many resources.

The backwards operation works well enough. I'm gettin by with that fine. Thanks for that you guys. And just in case everybody starts gettin a big ego, I would have thought of it myself you know.. I'm just messin around, don't get all weird.:)

Hahaha..yeah can call me Mustang :)

Glad you got it going !

In case anyone is still wondering, Total Commander (my favorite) also works fine. Just navigate to "Internal Shared Storage" (which brings you to the storage/emulated/0 root directory), long press the file in question, then choose Send To, then choose Save to Drive, and there you go.

It's also easy using Files by Google. Select "Internal Storage," then tap the 3 dot menu button associated with the file, then Share, then Drive.
