Is this some kind of screen burn in?

Sorry for the lousy photo from my tablet, but it's easy to see that weird light section in the middle of the screen. Just noticed this today. Any idea what happened here? Note20 Ultra on Verizon. It's persistent across various apps and colors. 20201128_203506.jpeg

Does that image outline look like something you been using? Could be a bad screen?

I ask because I think extended direct sunlight can cause something that looks like burn-in as well -- so is it possible the phone was sitting somewhere with objects casting a shadow like that?

Its been there since S10. If you want a clearer image, use a UV light and you will see the entire thing.

But if it's always there then its burn in...

It's never been in a position where it's sat in sunlight or weird shadows. Never noticed the battery getting hot either. The strangest thing. It just appeared instantly, I swear there was no hint of a defect earlier today.

Going into a dark cupboard and turning down the brightness on a note 20 ultra or any oled panel is pretty scary. This was on my dual sim note 20 ultra. But they are all similar give or take a bit. IMG_033705.jpg

You want take it off see if still there ?
Heh, just put a fresh one on a few days ago so not really lol. I'll give it a little more time for more responses and if no one seems to be experiencing something similar, I'll remove it and see.

Ok , did you noticed at the time when you changed the screen protector?

Nope, noticed it the first time fifteen minutes before the original post. I restarted the phone thinking maybe some app overlay was stuck or something, but nope, it's physically there in some manner.
