Is this some kind of screen burn in?

Mine started looking like the original post as soon as I installed the beta. I gave feedback about it but the beta updates still haven't fixed it. It is only on light Grey and white screens from what I can tell.

My screen has a shadow on the left side of the screen and it's caused by the Whitestone dome screen protector. I peeled it off and the problem went away. Put the second one on and still have the same problem. I need to install my new WSD protectors but still rolling with the 2nd shadow one on. :(

Is it a similar effect to what my picture shows? Because if it's just the screen protector I can live with it. I'm only worried about an actual screen defect that I wouldn't want to get worse.

Mine was real hard to get a picture of. Only showed on white backgrounds. Mine was the Whitestone Dome causing the problem.
Here are a couple pictures and you can clearly see the area on the glass after I peeled it off.

Sorry for the lousy photo from my tablet, but it's easy to see that weird light section in the middle of the screen. Just noticed this today. Any idea what happened here? Note20 Ultra on Verizon. It's persistent across various apps and colors. View attachment 329330

I had that exact same issue with my note 9. It was determined to be a bad screen and Verizon sent me a replacement. I will try to find the photo. It was really odd

What did you have to do to get it replaced? Did you have to take it into a store or were you able to get it settled over the phone?

That's the cheese grater gate issue of the note 9. I mentioned that earlier , however are we sure that OP has same issue ? Removing the screen saver will prove it. Either way you're going to lose screen saver when you ship it back so unsure what the issue or removing it is ?

I just called Verizon. It was not a problem. They sent me a replacement 2 day fed ex and I returned the defective one in the pkg they sent with a paid return label

Now, whatever the imperfection was is completely gone; screen is fine now. I guess we can rule out the screen protector. If it happens again I will contact Verizon for a replacement.

I just found your post after searching the same issue with my Note 20 Ultra. My "burn in" looks exactly like yours and just showed up in the past few days. What do you think caused it to fix itself?

I think the timing of mine coincided with downloading Android 11. Not claiming it was related of course but a weird coincidence.

Hi, have you tried safe mode if it's still there ?

Just tried and is still there. Doesn't seem as bad in safe mode but is there. I complained about this in the beta and they tried to blame my phone even though it didn't start until A11. About to swap to the OP8Pro. Getting tired of Sammy between this, the battery draining faster now and the false esim claims.

I hear you , 1+8pro is solid phone , get the global version if you do .

Yes I tried safe mode as well as a well factory reset (pain in the *** to start from scratch) and the problem remains.

I already have the unlocked I bought at release. Great phone, just kind of stuck to samsung ecosystem. I just went through and did some app updates on the 1+ and it seems faster than the N20U also.
