Is your Snapdragon S8/S8+ Behind on Security Updates?

Just picked up my new S8+ today from AT&T and I am on the July 1 security patch and showing no updates
AT&T is probably the worst when it comes to providing the security updates. I have a Verizon S8+. I received the October Security update at the end of October, and I just got the November update installed OTA. Amongst the US carriers, Verizon has proven to be the fastest updater when it comes to flagship phones. T-Mobile second place, Sprint 3rd, and AT&T the bottom.

New Note 8 from AT&T. Installed Nov 1 update 350MB then few hours later a small patch took all of 4 minutes with Nov 13th date.

Takes time to test and qualify. Google's Project Treble will eventually separate carrier part from core system and from user applications to make testing and update cycle easier.

I am still on the April 2017 update. phone thinks it's up to date.

Yeah, something is wrong. Is your phone rooted?
Is it a carrier version or unlocked?
Have you tried wiping cache partition?
Maybe hook up to Smart Switch via your computer to update?

Now into the first week of March, and still on the Dec 2017 patch level, because...

...AT&T.

I was on Oreo beta so it has more current patch but what hurts is there are exploits and vulnerabilities, yes?

Verizon S8 here and I'm on February security patch. I've been somewhat surprised by the patches. Not as quick as my Pixel 2 was but they are not as far behind as I expected.

My carrier is AT&T and my phone us not rooted. Bixby voice won't update either.
