Issues compiling

Hello, so this is like my third day back using my N4 and can't help but notice issues that keep compiling.
OK so,
1. last night my the volume up and down buttons stopped working.
2. Camera froze trying to take a picture
3. Email accounts suddenly stopped syncing
4. Alarm icon flickers on and off.

So, anyone else experience anything like this? I want to do a reset of my phone but I don't want to lose saved game data or text messages. I really don't know how to back it all up. I have rebooted the n4 several times.

My volume buttons and my power button stop working once every week or so. Usually a restart fixes the problem, but its pretty annoying.

Yup, when the volume up and down buttons stopped working, I was like Wtf?! I was relieved to find them operational on reboot. It's just weird because I've never had those issues before I switched to the galaxy s4. I'm thinking maybe it was the switch to kitkat 4.4?
