I just got the MD4 build and the only current issue I am having is receiving some text messages twice. It doesn't happen with all texts but I would say about 80% I receive twice and about 3-4 mins apart.

Any ideas?

I've had this problem ever since I got my GS3. It only seems to happen when someone texts me from an iPhone and even then only when they've sent me multiple texts...then the first one will come again.

Like so:

Hi, this is the first text
and this is a second text quickly following the first text
and a quick third text
Hi, this is the first text

I haven't had any problems with text messages but I have had an issue with the widgets. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and turned on the screen. From there, all of my widgets were gone. I tried to long press the empty spaces but no response. So from there I just power cycled the phone and they're all working now. Man, I should work for Sprint, huh? Ha!

These kinds of things (the widgets) are the glitches that can occur when you do a dirty flash or an OTA (or apply step 1, which is essentially the same as the OTA).

Josh, you might try clearing the cache for the messaging app, then force closing it and starting it up again.

I found one issue. Google navigation system. During the main screen if you have your phone in portrait mode, change to landscape mode. It'll crash the program. Only during the input screen. If you have navigation running than it'll run fine.

Did you follow post #1 or post #2? If post #2, did you do a factory reset or not? In any case, try clearing data for the map app and force closing it. Then reopen it and see if it still happens.

i followed the first post. ill try clearing the apps data to see what happens.

i cleared the application. problem still happens.

Odd. I haven't seen this reported by anyone else. Try uninstalling updates (from the same page as clearing data) and see if it happens with the built-in version. If not, try reinstalling the update.

I've done what you mentioned earlier. The crash still happens when I uninstalled the system's update. I updated the maps and repeated the process, phone still crashed. Am I the only unlucky one? I'm glad it doesn't crash during Navigation running itself at least.:-\

I have none of the issues posted. I flashed sextape's odin one-click from xda. Ota's almost always give issues it seems. Fresh install is best.

I have seen double text messages and it seems to happen if i am in a low signal area.

I just rebooted the phone into recovery mode and wiped the cache...had to do it twice but it seems to be working fine now.

Hulk, this might be worth a try for your problem.

Had a signal issue tried updating profile and PRL was still there. Wiped and reflashed, so far that seems to have fixed it.

I have tried the reboot process (twice), but I still have the same problem. I seem to have found another problem (I might be wrong), but sending picture texts. My phone seems to be compressing them. They're not full sharpness anymore. My girlfriend noticed it too. She starting complaining about it, saying it's like my old HTC EVO 4g LTE but not as bad. Do you think I need to do a factory system wipe out? I feel so unlucky with this phone.

When you say you did "the reboot process" what do you mean? A normal reboot doesn't clear cache; Did you boot into recovery (vol UP, home, power at the same time) and select the clear cache option?

If nothing else works, a factory reset may be necessary. Every phone is different, and just like an OTA, sometimes a reset is necessary.

Sorry for the late reply. I did the recovery reset as you stated (volume up, power and home button pressed). Did it twice in fact with the cache clear. Than I did the factory wipe out.

Sad to say I still have the navigation crash and picture texting compression now. Perhaps it's just my luck?

I would try redownloading the ROM, and re-flashing it. I haven't seen anyone else report this, here or on XDA, so it doesn't seem to be a real bug in the ROM. A couple of bits could have gotten corrupted causing some weird problem.

Also make sure to wipe and reset.

I had a similar problem with double texts. I use Handcent and I had to tick the priority box in Handcent settings and clear data etc for the default sms app. That fixed it for me but like Meyer sez... Sounds like it may be a corruption issue.

Okay. I'm going to recap. Re-download the ROM. Install it again, once the installation is complete do a factory wipe out again?
