So I noticed a couple months ago on my Nexus 5 that the GSM antenna (the black one on the right side) was detached from the part that snaps onto the motherboard. So I soldered it to reattach it, now I got a Straight Talk card for it, a new sim, and I only have LTE at my house when I'm outside, but once I come in the house, my service is spotty af. My question is, is the solder screwing with the service? Should I melt it off and just rest the antenna wire in the clip part, or is it something else causing this? Plz help, someone!!

It shouldn't be (one antenna has nothing to do with the other), but if you were a little sloppy, it could be.

I don't think you should fool with it any more - or you could break something else. Either leave it or bring it to a really good (by reputation) repair shop.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna buy replacement antennas from Amazon for like $6, if that doesn't fix it, idfk what's going on with this phone. Any ideas as to what else it could be?
