Issues with the new 4.1.2 ATT update?

I have an issue. since I updated I cant send mms messages. I can receive them but I can send. worked fine before the update. its quite annoying.

Since the update, I've lost the ability to right swipe a name on the call log to make a call. Left swipe to message still works.

I've seen others have this same problem. Has anyone heard of a fix for this?

My GPS was always flawless until the 4.1.1 update earlier this year. After that update I started to have random GPS issues where it would be fine for awhile and then all of a sudden it would just lose signal and the only way to get it back was to reboot the phone. I've had the 4.1.2 update for a week and so far I have not encountered any of the GPS issues I had on 4.1.1. I am hoping that continues to be the case as the issue before was very annoying.

Hopefully someone else can chime in and give their experience to see if it is working better for them too.

Give it a week or a bit longer and the issue will be back. At least that's how long it took mine to reappear.

Right swipe doesn't work with my ATT Samsung Galaxy 3.

It works on mine, but I did a factory reset before and after the update. I noticed that you can't right swipe from the picture. You have to start on the name and then swipe right. On a broader note, I haven't tested all of the features yet, but so far I haven't had any issues. I haven't tried the GPS yet or several other things.

UPDATE: I had some issues with Google Voice and Hangouts not receiving new messages sometimes. I think I tracked it down to the update processes getting cached and no longer running. I had the same issue with the ICS firmware occasionally. I think I solved this by stopping and disabling a lot of AT&T, Samsung, and other apps that I don't use (bloatware). You can do this from the All tab of Manage Apps in Settings. This reduces the number of processes so the system is more likely to keep what I want running. Also this removes those apps from the app drawer.

I have to kinda hold the press on the contract then swipe to the right to call them. (whereas a simple swipe to the left messages them) I hate that but at least it still works

I'm having a similar problem with only a couple of my gallery files where I cannot view pictures. The gallery will freeze up and my home screen comes back. I cleared the cache and problem still persists.

I don't have a problem viewing the photos through another photo app like Fish Bowl Photo.

Anyone else having trouble with photos being corrupted/broken in the photo gallery? I noticed that two photos that I took earlier today were corrupted when I went to view them in my gallery and had a "broken image" symbol on them instead of the image thumbnail. Those images would not show up on my computer as well. I took test photos to see if it would occur again but they came out fine so it doesn't happen with every photo just at random I guess. This is really disappointing because I use my camera very much.

I hate this update. I hope they push out a new one soon. Since the update, I have several issues. The biggest issue is that the screen is not as responsive and the phone seems to lag. Sometimes I have to swipe my finger across the screen 2 or 3 times before it does anything. When I play games, sometimes it doesn't even register that I touched the screen. Sometimes I tap in one place, only to have something happen elsewhere. It thinks I touched somewhere else. You get the picture.

Another issue is that I can no longer swipe from left to right on a contact to call them. I can swipe right to left and it will text them, but the other way rarely works. Sometimes I can swipe 10-20 times and it may work. This may have something to do with the screen issues I mentioned.

The Multi-Window feature is useless on a phone. I like it on the tablet, but there is no reason to have it on a phone.

If AT&T has not forced the update on you yet, don't get it. At some point you will have no choice though. My wife's phone prompted her to update and she said no several times. It eventually updated without giving her a choice.

I try to slide to a call, but it won't allow. I can slide to message with no problem, but I can't slide to make a phone call when on the name in favorites?! Anyone else having this problem? Any idea of what to do? I don't like having to click on their name & then having to click on the call button --- too much to do to call someone on my favorites!

That's weird. My phone let's me and I have 4.1.2. I think you have to slide on the picture or the name now. I forget which one.

Slide right to call still works. You have to start just to the right of the contacts picture. If you start on the contacts picture it will not work. Try it.

Newest update is totally sapping my battery. Went from having a 16+ hour battery life to 6-8 hours. Called AT&T technical help, they told me to update all apps (which I did) and close out of apps to save battery (which I've been doing). "Android OS" and "Android System" still use the majority of my battery and still have the short battery life after a week. AT&T said there's nothing else they can help me with.

I'd like to uninstall this new software update or get a fix for this software. AT&T says I can't uninstall this update. Is that true? Anyone know a fix that will help my phone cope with this new update?
