I got a decent tpu case from Amazon for $10 Cdn, but went back to the fabric case...it just feels so good and looks awesome

I'm still sporting a tempered glass backed case. It's clear and hasn't scratched yet.

They make a very thin one but it doesn't protect the entire phone. They also make one that offers more protection but adds bulk. Not cheap though

I picked up a Google Fabric Case in "Fog" at Best Buy to use as a stopgap until my other (I thought preferred) cases came in. I also ended up liking the Google Fabric case the best and returned all the others.

I never tried it on wireless but they claim it is wireless friendly. It does have some metal in it so it is also magnet mount compatible. It comes in red also. They only make the thin one for Pixel 2 series. Nothing for the 3 yet.

I actually like the Kevlar backed Droids

Those were great phones, felt "premium" to me but were actually tough enough for real world use. My Moto x pure is all metal except for a nice rubberized textured back..... also feels expensive and solid, plus you could wirelessly charge it if it had been designed to be. There's many options besides glass that could feel "high end" and still be tough and charge wirelessly.

I wish the industry would offer us more of them like you mentioned :-[

I believe they were made with the same or similar aramid fiber that the Pitaka cases are made of.

This case feels good on the Pixel 3XL and the back has a layer of tempered glass so it doesn't feel like a case in on the phone. You do feel the TPU sides. it only comes in clear for the pixels at the moment but I don't recommend the color versions because they scratch for some reason. I think it's because they color the outside of the glass which is a mistake as my daughter found out with the ones for her iPhone.

What people don't understand is that there are all grades of plastic. The word "plastic" has been made synonymous with "cheap". In actuality NASA developed very high grades of plastic to use in the space program. ABS plastic is one of the highest grades and is used in space applications because it is stronger and lighter than metal and impervious to ultraviolet rays. ABS plastic is used for durability in piano hammers. And of course high grade plastic has been used for phones. Unfortunately for people today the word plastic means "not premium".

Got that right. Glock handguns are reliable, I don't second guess the fact they are made from plastic. Plastic does not have to be cheap.
