Per fedex, is has to do with the quantity of packages they have (and it does seem like they have a lot of our phones!) They sort the phones by delivery date, so first priority is going to those with a friday delivery date. I'm in the same boat.

Based on what Fedex told me, picked up doesn't necessarily mean it's gone anywhere yet. It could be in transit, but it might not be. The 4th was a holiday, so it doesn't count. They told me even though my 'in transit' started on the 4th, it's not considered as leaving the facility until Thursday, and the first day does not count as a day towards the 2 day delivery, so official delivery is Monday
That doesn't mean it can't come sooner, though.4th of july was a holiday. You probably got 2 day shipping, just like a few of us did for some reason... But today was the first day they probably picked it up. Tomorrow it will be in transit. They dont deliver on saturday's and sundays. Monday it will be the "second day", and it will arrive!
Got my tracking number early this morning. Fedex updated but apparently won' be shipped out till today with overnight delivery. However since they don't do standard overnight on Saturdays, I'll be getting the package Monday.

Shipped! Ordered blue 16gb on June 11. Delivering to west-central Illinois, priority overnight.
Same thing here. I think PA fell into a black hole or something...

Found a little backdoor to tracking your phone. This is for the people with the credit card charged, but no tracking # yet. Verizon is using reference # based on your order number and location.
In your confirmation email grab the two numbers, I will use N for order number and L for location.
Order Number: NNNNNNN
Order Location: LLLLLLL
Go to the below URL, put in your reference number as "LLLLLLL_00NNNNNNN" based on your order number and location. Use your zip code and the ship date. Leave account no blank. Mine comes right up. Note, 2 of my orders had order number and location as 7 digits. You may need to tweak it if each of those are > or < 7 digits. Use 0's in the order # section if the order # is less than 7 digits, example for 5 digit order number would be 0000NNNNN.
The above format works for Memphis overnight orders. You can also try the PA location with the format "LLLLLLL_000NNNNNN01".

I just talked to Verizon because my cc was charged on Tuesday and my last fedex status STILL shows 'paperwork received'. No update in over 24 hours and still showing Monday delivery (and I was charged Tuesday!) Yesterday I had called and complained that when I was charged my phone would ship Thursday and I would get it Friday due to my location in NJ. The rep yesterday then submitted paperwork to fedex to change my delivery to overnight.
My rep today confirmed that paperwork was submitted, and she said when that paperwork is submitted after shipment has started she has seen fedex status stop updating and I will very likely get it today. She's going to call fedex when they open to confirm and call me back with the info.
Regarding Memphis vs PA shipping. I told here a lot of people were getting one day shipping, and I was hearing a lot of it coming out of Memphis. She says Samsung and Verizon are BOTH shipping phones, and Samsung was (not sure they still are) shipping overnight. So, that's why some are getting overnight and some are getting 2 day. Unless we paid for overnight when we ordered our phones, we can't complain (except for me because my cc was charged on Tuesday and they aren't supposed to charge until shipped!)

I tried this on my daughter's phone that already shipped and it didn't work. I pulled up the reference # from her tracking # and the format was a little different from what you have above. It was:
LLLLLLL_000NNNNNN01
Mine hasn't charged or shipped yet, but my order status has changed to have the blank tracking number instead of the original format. I can't get mine to work, but it might just be too early.
2 of my orders are out of Memphis overnight and use the above reference number format. Where did hers ship from? Curious....
I got the notification email last night around 11pm and it is already in my town at the sorting facility. It came from Memphis. I am supposed to leave town so I called and they are gonna hold it there for me to go pick up. Woohoo!!!

FedEx sucks. Why did my phone arrive at a sorting facility over an hour away this morning when they usually go to a facility only 20 mins away before they get delivered?
They better deliver today!
If they had used UPS I would have gotten it yesterday!

I had a dream my phone was shipped to Poland! AYEE....It is due to be delivered today, currently sitting 5 miles away cant wait!
Still no confirmation email or change in website here, although my credit card was charged. Disappointed, as I wanted it today. :-(
