It seems like there's a new bad LG G4 review every day.

Normally I couldn't care less about other people's opinions. The reason I care in this case is because I share their sentiments.

I think your improperly functioning device is souring your experience. Either replace your device with a better working unit or look for something else that will suit your needs. Trying to deal with a malfunctioning device will drive anyone mad!

Oh yeah, admittedly it's an exaggeration. I guess I'm just sour because I'm one of the people who got a dud. I've gone back to using my 2013 Moto X because the lag on my G4 is unbearable. I've factory reset it twice and run it stock sans apps and it still lags. Hopefully and update with a fix comes sooner than later.
I have seen the "My visit" thread, and yes, there are always a certain number of devices that suffer from issues, it just seems to me that the issues the G4 is suffering from are a bit more prevalent than usual nit-picky complaints people have.
Have you seen this thread over at XDA: [POLL: Vote 4 Yours] Summary of issues peopl… | LG G4 | XDA Forums

First I'm truly sorry that you got a bad device. I did see that XDA thread (and similar for other devices) and I don't thing you can extrapolate a failure rate from such threads. The sample rate is too minuscule among other things.

Sorry to hear about your negative experience with G4. It clearly is not operating per design, I had the Euro version and now the Verizon variant and both have exceeded my expectations. I too would be unhappy if either or both acted any where near what you are experiencing.

If my phone was as bad as Anthony_NE I'd have either returned it or driven over it with my truck.

My phone is a Verizon variant, no problems after I disabled battery sucking apps (google and VZ stuff). It's off the charger for 16 hours a day, I go to bed with 25-45% left on the battery, and that's spending the work day in a lousy coverage area. No lag, the touch screen issue is tiny and a non factor.

Haha. I'm at that point, but I'm waiting in hopes that LG fixes it. The lag is the biggest issue. Touchscreen misses are there for sure but manageable. My batter life is awesome and overheating is not really an issue, just heats up sometimes. I don't want to hate this phone. I like the size, camera is good and I don't think it's ugly, my experience with the software just hasn't been a good one. FYI Google Launcher and Google keyboard.

Of course 200 people vs. the hundreds of thousands of units sold is nothing, and the only reason this poll carries any weight is because 200 people on an XDA thread is pretty significant. It was even mentioned in an write up either on this site or Android Authority. We could surely go back and forth ad nauseum about those that have issues against those that don't, but in my opinion these issues have gotten enough coverage outside of just forums to indicate that there is an issue that needs addressing. Again, in my opinion.

So everybody else has now lags like the ones Anthony has?
Touchscreen bug looks like only on US models, but lags? I thought people coming from Note 4 found the G4 flying

Are you past your 14 day window?

From the XDA thread, post # 109 "...The people who aren't having problems have no reason to read through these threads or read through any threads, as most don't read forums about their phones. We're a small sub-section."

In other words people with problems are more likely to read that thread and vote in the poll.

I believe that you and others are having lag issues, and I hope you can give another G4 a try. I wish the XDA thread correlated the problems with the LG Model. What percentage of the problems occur in the Verizon model? We have no idea. I've had two G4's that were problem free, H815 and H811. Nobody should accept a less than perfect device. I'm still not convinced this is a widespread problem that span all the models of the G4.

Unfortunately yeah. Bought it on day one.

What model did you buy? If from a carrier you should be hammering them to resolve the issue (I assume you are). Did you pay in full with a credit card?

Currently downloading a ~150mb update from at&t. Maybe they heard me complaining. Haha

Well, I'm happy to report that whatever update I just received delivered an immediate improvement. Tap to wake works every time and I'm screaming now. Transitions, animations and scrolling are all butter. Moto X back in the box, G4 back in the pocket. Hopefully this improvement isn't just a result of a cache clearing, haven't yet seen a change log.

Edit: The change log:
AT&T Address Book enhancements
AT&T Locker enhancements
UBER enhancements
Security enhancements

Nothing in there relative to my issues but I can say for sure the lag I was experiencing is gone and the touchscreen has greatly improved. Still missing a few inputs here and there but surely improved.

Im the same as others here.. Ive had my G4 (H815 UK unbranded) for a week now and im running v10b and its like butter, but then again.. with any phone i have whenever I get a new OTA update, even if its a small 200mb one.. I always do a factory reset, and wipe cache everytime, so I find i have next to no issues.

The G4 is an amazing phone and i love it so far, but as has been said here.. LG UX 4 isnt for everyone. For me personnally, I cant stand cartoony TouchWiz, so i would never own an S6, but yet Im a huge fan of HTC Sense (this year HTC messed up the camera and sold us a rebranded M8) and really like LG UX, but theyre not perfect

No phone is ever perfect (even the G4) and there will always be little niggles here and there with all phones.. for me, the G4 camera has taken the odd doofus shot, total noise and messy exposed, but as flagships go... its damn fine. but its worse when you get carrier branding..

That's great news!

Thanks for your contribution. I'm not talking imaginary lag, or an app taking an extra millisecond to open. I mean, open maps, count to three and its open. Transitioning back to the home screen from the app drawer, count to three. You're right though, the G4 must just not be for me. "Lol"

didnt say you were imagining anything, just saying in general people will find lag in any phone. some iphone users say theres lag and some dont, same for galaxy phones, htc phones etc. i have no lag, maybe thats my perception, maybe my phone is lucky enough to have no issues.

Dont take it personal ;)

Anthony, how's your phone now? Is it performing any better?

On mine, all apps open the instant I touch on them.

Anything from the Note 4 flies xD haha. I returned my Note 4 today, I have Nexus 6 which is great. but battery life isn't that great. I'm looking to see if the G4 can replace my Nexus 6. But my Note 4 lagged in multitasking, taking pictures, reviewing images from the camera, and opening the gallery. Everything else went very smoothly... But... Those are very common daily habits for me and my usage. My Nexus 6 FLIES! Never lags.

Hopefully LG will update it soon and fix these issues.
