In case there are any visitors to this forum doing some pre-purchase research, I am pleased to report that this Galaxy Tab 10.1 is still awesome after a long time (in tech years). The hardware is fantastic and the software, without rooting, is quick and responsive. A slew of tablets have hit the market but I don't have an itch to dump my Tab for another. This is what I call an excellent product.

So if you are considering the Tab 10.1, just do it.

I think the only tab I would dump this one for the 1080p tf prime or maybe a newer Sammy tab. Other then that I love this tab

I got mind for Fathers Day and I wouldn't trade it or have thought of trading. I use it daily for play and work. I have even influenced others to get one because they vallue my tech opinion.
The only thing I wish Sammy would do is make more accessories like HDMI to DVI and HDMI to VGA adapters. Its cool go be able to output to HDMI but you can't always control where you will be using or want to use your Tab as as source.

Agree with everyone here.

My Tab has been great since launch and I wouldn't give it up! Best Samsung device I've owned and ICS will only make it better.

I've only had mine since Christmas, and of course still loving it. Don't see that changing for a long time.

I bought an Archos 70it a little over a year ago as my first tablet. I still have it and still use it, but as a long time Palm fan I also had a Palm Pre for a phone and was anxiously awaiting the launch of the TouchPad, despite all that it was going through with the HP takeover.

Bought the HP TouchPad when it launched in July. That was a train wreck. I tried to use it for a week, but it was a mess, so I took it back and traded it in for a Galaxy Tab 10.1. Love the way it looks and feels. Within a month I traded my old Pre in for a Samsung Droid Charge. Haven't looked back since. The Tab has not replaced my desktop or my laptop, but it has certainly made me less dependent on them.

I just got one last night, they have been sold out everywhere and I was able to get this one from AAFES because someone returned it. I am not sure why they returned it but it still had all the protective film on it. Anyhow, i have been using a the Iconia A500 since Oct. I love that one to death but was kinda getting bored and I wanted something better then the crappy Acer cover. So i set out to shop around and found a good deal on this one as an open box. I was preferring to get the new TF prime but the one point about that one that makes me not want it was the same as the original. Lack of accessories which is the same as the iconia. It seems that most companies like otter box and targus are mainly targeting the galaxy and ipad. This in mind i bought the galaxy. It is so awsome and smooth. Netflix is so much better on this one versus my acer tab. The only part that bugs me is the lack of SD card slot. I don't really have a use for all the other plug ins but the SD card slot is the most important and useful to me. Outside of that i have to say bravo to samsung. They obviosuly outdid themselves with this one. I can't wait to see whats coming from samsung or if they include tegra 3.

Oh, to the poster that made a comment about the waiting for the TF Prime. I would sit back a wait a bit. Asus has always been a cutting edge company when it comes to the latest and greatest and i attribute not fault to them what so ever. It's just been my experience in the past with their products that they rush out to beat everyone else tend to be buggy. Now to properly represent this comment i should say that my experience comes from building PC's and that tablets may well be different. In anycase, i have my local game stop trying to run one down for me...lol

Me too I sleep with it every night and im not kidding!

I bought mine a couple days ago used off craigslist. Hit the jackpot IMO with this purchase. Came with the book cover and a stylus. Love it so far. Having previously owned a Xoom, HP Touchpad and Evo View 4G, this is by far the best tablet I've owned and will definitely be a keeper. Only thing is that the seller didn't mention it was already rooted so I'm looking to unroot, not sure yet.
