Just ordered it at the store on Siegen Ln. Will be here tomorrow. They only charged me $149.99 for upgrade pricing + $19.99 Saturday delivery. Got all that for less than $190 after taxes and everything. Awesome!
Its Friday, anyone get their D3 Yet?

I should have paid for next day delivery. I have to wait til Monday:-( More pics please...and maybe with the device on. Lets hear some first impressions.
This. Aw this thing feels GOOD. LOVE the qwerty. Don't worry about crowded thumbs on the number line, folks-there's PLENTY of room.

All these little comments about how nice the phone is makes me want to say the heck with the Bionic and just go with the D3... tempting... very tempting.

We got to play around with a demo D3 this morning at our local BJ's Verizon kiosk. It really looks like this will be a solid phone. Build quality appears nice. The screen is bright and clear and the physical keyboard is much much improved. No lag to speak of. Then again it had no additional apps on it. FWIW, the Droid Charge I was playing with there had it share of stumbles with screen transitions.
For those of you worried that the number row would be mashed up against the screen bezel ala OG Droid and D2, rendering it uselss, have no fear. There is now a healthy gap between the keys and screen now. The keys are even spaced slight apart from one another now. Looks like a good job by Moto.
We found out that my wife can get the D3 for $99 with her upgrade that came due last November. She had an old ENv Touch but has been waiting on this D3 for some time now. Last week I bought her a used D2G and activated it before 7/7 to get her unlimited data. She will still get her upgrade credit and the week old unlimited data plan will grandfather in on the new D3. She may still wait to see what Bionic brings as she has a visual impairment and the bigger the screen the better it is for her to see. However for that price of $99, I don't think she'll be passing it up.
Here's to hoping that the D3 shakes out to be a winner for everyone who have been waiting so patiently all this time!

Still very impatiently waiting on mine... Its 2:35 and still not here... Sigh. I got work at 4 so I was hoping it would come early, id have time to play around with it and set things up.. Looks like I'm stuck waiting until tonight. Btw for those who got it does it come pre-loaded with netflix? I assume no, were gonna be stuck waiting but itd be nice. Also please tell me the bloatware is at a minimum..
4g or no 4g...I'm on wifi enough where'd I'd rather have the keyboard and battery life. Also, 4" is the sweet spot.
i upgraded to the X2 from the OG droid about 45 days ago. i have had nothing but troubles with it restarting 6 or more times a day and problems with the onscreen keyboard. i swapped for a new one a few days before my 30 days was up the first month and it seemed ok for awhile but now is doing the same things again, went to the best buy yesterday where i got the phone and told them it was doing the same thing again..guy says well i believe that the software has those problems and if i gave you another one, it would do the same as well. so he asked what other phone i wanted and since i was reluctant to give my OG keyboard away to start with, i asked about the droid 3 and its availability. he said they should have it by the 14th and there gunna let me swap out phones...same price. nice to see best buy taking care of one of us for a change. but i still have to wait till next thursday to get mine

oh well im ready and keep the reviews coming! and picsThis is where I am at with these two phones... picked up my first Droid last Friday ($25!!!!!!!!!!!) to lock in Unlimited, and now I am trying to keep my patience and wait to see the Bionic side by side with the D3. I am reallllly hoping the Bionic has some good battery life, other wise I may need to jump to the D3.
On that note, once you guys take the D3's off the chargers, battery life info would be greatly appreciated!
Now that I have fired it up, it's a very nice option. The build is nice, the screen is nice (I am not a snob so looks good means looks good) and the performance is snappy.
The keyboard is much nicer than the OG Droid or Droid 2, it has a bit of space between the keys and the feel is better. The number row is definitely an improvement over using the alt key. I really am pleasantly surprised by the keyboard.
I also am a sucker for the heft and build of my OG Droid and this one, so ymmv.

The bootloader thing is starting to sound like a broken record. I get it, you wanted it unlocked, so did I, it just didn't happen. Still a good phone and a great phone for the masses who don't care about such things.

And that's why it being unlocked is important. Stupid crap that can be fixed by custom ROMs.
