Yes there is a way. If you are using the computer application, when you see your device appear on the left taskpane, sync to it. NOW with the vivid, typically TWO devices appear, one for the onboard memory and the other for the SD card. IF you have (for ex) a 16GB SDcard, look at the bottom and it should say XX.XXGB free. Sync to THAT one. Not the standard one that typically will say (at least) 8 GBs remaining.

thank you so much for your help. what i did was remove the memory card from the device and manually copied my itunes folder to the memory card and then put the card back in the phone and that also did the trick.

You could go that route too. I will say that Doubletwist has been giving me some grief with syncing the music but I have been working with them to resolve my issue. What's been happening to me is that the doubletwist app on my vivid (used to) constantly tell me I had no music on the card and wanted me to sync. But it has been working as of late without any issues.

last time I uses HTC sync and it synced all of my itunes songs and playlists. It asked me one time and I said yes so I havent used anything else. Works pretty good so far. Anyone else do this?
