how do you take itunes music and put it on the eris?

Try Doubletwist... It's a great way to do it...
They have support for the Droid and Eris already too... Mac only though...

If you use a PC just put the songs you want in a music folder and drag and drop that onto the mounted memory card on the PC...

With DoubleTwist you still have to do the drag and drop (at least on a Mac), and will not allow all songs to be transferred over just like iTunes. Easiest thing to do is drag and drop the songs you want from your desktop to your SD Card
