I've got a Pixel C, you've got questions. Fire away!

Are you noticing any performance hiccups/stutters throughout the UI? Some reviews I've read mention that the tablet seems to have unpredictable lag when opening an app or swiping or doing things on the tab.

Hey Phil. I currently have have a galaxy tab s 10.5. I want a nice Christmas present for myself. I use my tab for mainly media like Netflix etc..... I do use the sd card BUT...... I have gotten used to my note 5 without an sd card so I think I'll manage. I love the display on the tab s I am a massive fan off amoled. No denying the tab s display is magical. I know you can't write to much due to the review but guide me here haha. It's probably the hardest decision I have had to make in 2015 such a hard life;) thanks a mill Phil and the guys love the site and podcast

How old is that tablet? If it's still handling what you need it to handle, ride it till it breaks.

Need something lighter and kinda more portable? N9.
Need a bad-*** display and cool design? Pixel C.

That answer may well change in 6 months. (Or whenever they actually get the software done for this thing.)

I waited from the original Nexus until now (Pixel C) to upgrade...it was a painfully long wait....But worth it so far since I didn't buy anything in the mean time that I did not feel met my requirements.

A better question is WHY?.. I get ChromeOS and heavily considered it for my daughter last Christmas and even asked questions about it on this site (ultimately decided on a light Windows one as that's what she uses in school). $499 for a 32 GB Android tablet when the Surface 3 64 GB is $499 and can do much much much much much more.. It just seems overly priced for what it is... another mobile OS tablet (that thinks it can be more but can't).. It's like a wanna-be iPad Pro (who's a wanna-be Surface Pro, but can't either)...

What would you say the much much much much more is?

Hi Phil.

Can you comment on the volume and clarity from the speakers? Compared to an N9?

I use my tablets mainly for media, with some light email and google docs use, I think the PixC would be much better at the productivity stuff, but also want it to sound as good as the N9 (I know the screen is already better, as well as the battery).

Thanks in advance.

1) Does it support OpenGL 4.4 full profile (like the SHIELD Tablet does, libraries are offered by Nvidia to chipset purchasers like Google, who stupidly didn't include them in the Nexus 9)

2) Does it have true HDMI video out (X1 supports this) or is it just HDMI mirroring?

3) Can it use the GRID streaming service, play SHIELD branded games or access the Tegra Zone?

4) Can it use the Maxwell hardware decoder for streaming game content to and from the device (from PC and to Twitch for example)?

5) Have you done a hardware scan of screen calibration yet, how does the display stack up objectively to other tablet displays on the market with regard to grayscale error, saturation, color accuracy, and so on?

Hi. May be a silly question but does it have a GPS sensor? I can't find any mention of it on Google's Pixel C webpage.

I currently have a Galaxy tab 7.7 (still one of the best quality tablets made but getting old now). It's 340g and I find that a bit heavy after 30 mins or so usage. So a little worried about the weight of this.

The fact that Google stated they will update the s/w every 6 weeks implies to me that they have big plans for this. Sounds exciting so tempted to get one even though I don't really need one.

With the Pixel C Keyboard, any concerns with scratching the screen while sliding the tablet (when it is face down on the keyboard) off the keyboard?

Have you tried booting it from a Linux Pen drive :-P Well you never know ha. Yes I know it is idiotic but the concept is awsome. Pixel C with another more useful OS.

It's about a year old Phil but I love new devices haha. It's in perfect condition j take great care of my devices so it will last until the battery or something else goes. The pixel is getting a a lot of bad reports about software etc.... I thought Google was going to throw out a few new cool software bits but seems like it's just a powerful tab with not so great software. One more thing how does it handle compared to the tab s? I read that the screen was not as good as Samsungs amoled is that true? Display is probably the most important thing to me. I have a nvidia shield tv that handles my gaming on the Android front anyway. Sorry about the long comment. Have a great Christmas to all of the android central. Roll on 2016 thanks

If you want a laptop replacement evaluate the tablet on those grounds. It is not as heavy as a laptop and has a really hi-res screen and big battery.

My 2 year old Samsung Note Pro 12.2" still looks better. Has the hi-res screen, a Logitech keyboard case (nice large keyboard) and a micro Bluetooth mouse when needed. I run "Officesuite Pro" for office tasks. The killer difference is I can run 4 windows on screen at the same time (usually just use 2).
Note Pros do get screen flicker from a loose connection (come on Samsung) and are 'old' for a tablet but still hose my old Toshiba 13.5" laptop. The Toshiba is for when I need something with Windows on it.

Hey Phil, here's a question!!!....
Can you use a bluetooth speaker or headset with the Pixel C to play music while the keyboard is paired?
I wasn't aware you could have multiple bluetooth devices connected at the same time.

It scares the hell out of me. My kids tend to get sandy feet on my bed, and I've already heard a crunch of metal/sand/metal. But so far so good.
