My feelings exactly. I think being that I paid for the 2 day shipping bothers me a little more when others that choose standard 3-5 are receiving their tracking info.

Ha well you got me there! Even though Google may ultimately responsible, I don't think there's much they can do about it at this point. But if your order said it would leave the warehouse by the 5th, I don't think there's a good reason to be upset with Google/UPS until the 6th. Nothing other than, "It's not fair!" :-\



I wouldn't go so far as to call this a fiasco yet. Wait until November 6. I tell my kids that life isn't fair! FWIW, I placed my order at 2:22 PM EDT, and I still haven't gotten a tracking email. I did get the confirmation email immediately though. The order in the Play Store says it will leave the warehouse by November 5.

Yeah since it does state ship by November 5th I won't bother calling until the 6th. I wonder if it's a California or west coast issue because a lot of easy coasters have gotten their tracking info.

I'm in brah. Sadly if I don't get anything by Tuesday I will have to cancel. I leave for Europe on Thursday and won't be here for 2 weeks. Wanted to take this on my trip. Coulda been awesome

Did you have any issues with purchasing it? I just find it really strange that we haven't heard anything yet. I'm still hoping on Monday morning to have a tracking email.

Nope, no issues at all. Smooth as butter. Got on, selected device and 2 day shipping, checked out with the amex. Got instant email and nothing since. BTW, where u at?

I wouldn't bother calling Google until you're past the shipping date promised when you ordered. For one thing, UPS Logistics is shipping them. I'm not even sure how much Google can do about it. Also, even if someone ordered a few minutes later, they could still be in the same shipping bucket. For example, maybe UPS says, "OK, everyone who ordered within the first hour of going live will be shipped by Saturday. Everyone who ordered from 12:00PM - 1:00PM PDT will be shipped when that's done. Maybe the white 16GB's are in a different location than the black 32GB's and aren't necessarily shipped in the same time frame. Maybe destination plays into it too. Basically, I wouldn't waste your time and Google's over something that they likely have very little, if any, control over anymore.

Agreed. It's also entirely possible that they're bulking orders together for their own efficiency. Sure, maybe the guy who ordered one minute after launch has to wait an extra day to get theirs, but that system could very well shave weeks off of delivering the entire inventory.

Google has made no claim that orders are first-come, first-served. They simply gave people a reasonable shipping date to go off of. And until that date has passed, there's no reason to get worked up over it.

Yes that is typical protocol. The shipping companies have a clause "that it may take up 24hrs for tracking information to be present.

It took little over 24 hours for me.

Sooooo I have an interesting question here...
When my tracking information was first updated with the location, business days remaining, estimated arrival and such it said it would be arriving Thursday at the end of the day. It said that for a while, along with 4 business days remaining (which would take us to Thursday), and it updated when it departed Kentucky.

I just got back from work and checked the status on UPS like I do every few hours or so, and now it gives me no estimated delivery time, and no business days remaining thing.
Has this happened to anyone? Maybe it is possible that the page will be updated with an earlier day of arrival?
 
Yesterday (Friday), I thought for sure I did a faux pas by ordering two Nexus 5's hours apart, thereby canceling both my orders in the process (Google Play's automation protects against credit card fraud)...I only meant to order one. I called the rep, and they said both my orders would be declined and I'll have to reorder 48 hours after I had ordered the first time. However, later Friday night I got a confirm saying my phone is on it's way, and a tracking number was given. Surely I thought, Google must've sent this to me in error as this and my other order was cancelled. But then on Saturday, checking the tracking info, it's showing it's arrived to a UPS processing center nearby me. Expected arrival is Monday. All I can say is...OMG! :D
