'I've Ordered a Nexus 5' Thread! (Order & Shipping Discussion)

I called Google and the rep said the shipping times are across the board. Her system shows the same as my screen, but she's had numerous reports of people getting deliveries even though there dashboard shows 3 - 4 weeks out. She even had one person that canceled there 3 - 4 week lead time order and place a new one. That order was confirmed and shipped 4 days later. As you stated there system seems to be having queueing issues with existing vs new orders.

Still nothing

I can't handle Google anymore. The first agent I called earlier this week said they would email and escalate the problem and get back to me in 24-48 hours. Never got contacted. The second agent again told me they would escalate the problem and get back to me in 24-48 hours. Received a generic email within an hour that they were on the case, but despite emailing them directly I never heard back from them again even after two days. Called a third agent today and they tell me the exact same thing: will escalate the issue and get back to me in 24-48 hours. Why they can't check on the previously escalated incident two days ago is beyond me, they just reinitiated the escalating thing despite knowing I had already contact two other agents. UPS still says they have no package in hand. I can't deal with this anymore. I'm just going to stop checking the tracking number. I may not have the phones I ordered but at least I'll keep some sanity until the day they do arrive, which at this point looks to be completely up in the air.

Just called and the lady said the same thing. I followed up to the email immediately leaving an aggressive response notifying that I'm very frustrated and upset so hopefully that that helps somewhat. This is annoying as hell man, I just want my phone. There's a chance UPS might update overnight so that really is our last hope..

Honestly, I think we could be blue in the face with annoyance and it wouldn't matter. It doesn't seem to be one particular agent's fault (although some were definitely less helpful than others) but rather a system problem. The warehouse people don't communicate effectively with the reps and vice versa. Try to take a breather, there's not much we can do.

I just cancelled and ordered a Moto x. The only thing I really wanted on the N5 was wireless charging. Not worth wait and aggravation.

Not to go off topic but did you get one unlocked? Through motomaker? Envious minds want to know. :)

Are some of you waiting a few months before buying the Nexus 5 so that LG can get all the handware kinks fixed? I generally wait a month or two before buying new electronics but I'm having a hard time waiting. I want to replace my Galaxy Nexus.

Was this a sale price or what?? 119$ that's insanely cheap!

Just checked again and it has FINALLY updated. Scheduled delivery date is Wednesday! All the best to you man and I hope your issue is resolved as well.

Anyone else have a gray haze over part of their screen when brightness is below 20%?
Open Chrome or any white page.
If set higher than 20% it doesn't occur.

Not a deal-breaker but I opened a ticket with Google Support in case it's still bothering me in a while when the ordering doesn't take a month I'll order a replacement if it doesn't fix itself.

So I caved and ended up using of my bonus check and got a nexus 5 from sprint and I must say I'm impressed and it does get hot when I'm updating apps and installing new ones. It was a pain to activate. But in AZ there LTE in parts of Phoenix and my house gets it and its working perfect thank god! Gonna sell it once I get my 32gb in hopefully lol

ARRGGGHH!!

Everyone else is starting to see shipments. Heck there is a guy on here claiming he ordered on the 5th and got his two days later. I already had a ticket in with support because the wait times on my receipt kept changing. They told me it was no longer pending (I think that might be BS because it still is on my CC and on the receipt) and that after 48 hours if it still hadn't shipped to email back so they could look into it further. Just emailed them back.

Just got mine today to replace a Gnex too. Huge Bump. so far, I'm not seeing any real hardware issues. I think the "loose power button" is overblown (It is there, but it's not hugely noticeable on mine), The screen looks Gorgeous, the Camera really is hit or miss, but I've been able to take some really great low light shots with it in HDR+, and my speaker worries were really for naught. don't regret the purchase in any way so far.

Cheers!

So I replied back to a support email I got earlier in the week telling me mine should ship within 48 hours (which has now passed). I called out that others after me ordered after me and are getting shipping notifications or already have their Nexus 5. This was the response I got:

Hello Goodeye,

Thank you for being so awesome, at this time Bob is out of office and I will be assisting you. My name is Dylan. At this time your order is supposed to ship on: 26 Nov 2013. You should see that email on or before that date. I know that others have received theirs and that is just up to our automated systems. Your order can get lucky and ship before that, but at this time it will ship on or before the 26th.

So basically they just admitted their system doesn't go based off when the order was made just whenever and whomever the heck it feels like sending to.

Also when I received the email from them I just emailed them back with a pretty stern message saying that their service was unacceptable etc. shipped it out within a few hours from that and I got my email back shortly after as well. Hopefully this works others too :D

Yeah my response back was kinda like: "Really WTF?! That's not fair" Not in those words but with that sentiment. I'm curious as to how yours was worded. Might have to go that route with this Dylan guy. I know he is just doing his job but he totally is beating around the bush when I called out his email response to me about it "just how the AUTOMATED system handles it" response.

Nope, I'm still in the hot seat. Happy for you though, I hope you enjoy it come next week. So, maybe Goodeye is on to something, you should share that email that magically made things work for you. Form letter for disgruntled customers.

That's completely annoying, luck shouldn't be a driving force here.

Exactly. He even followed up with:

Hello Goodeye,

Thank you for letting me know! I completely understand where you're coming from! However, right now if you do cancel your order, you do have that chance to get it sooner. But, you also have that chance to get it (Latest) December 3rd. So just keep that in mind and let me know what you would like to do!

That was a response to my response saying that "others were getting it earlier should I have to cancel and reorder?"

Basically admitting it's completely random.
