Just ordered the red Nexus 5 on 3/10 at 10:30 CST. Estimated "Ship by" date is 3/21. I'll update this post when it ships.

I just ordered my second Nexus 5 yesterday. It says that the ship date is March 12th. I also got next day shipping, so I should have it by Thursday. It still says pending, but it should ship tomorrow. Luckily, the case that I bought will be delivered on the same day.

I really miss my Nexus 5!

A couple of months ago, I got a black 16gb and instantly fell in love with it. Last month, my son's black 16gb got stolen out of his locker at the gym. He couldn't buy a replacement until his tax return arrived, so I gave him my phone. He works the night shift and drives a crapbox with 290k miles on it, so he needed a phone more than me. The plan was that he pay me when he got his tax return and I order a new one. A few days ago, he paid me and I ordered a red 16gb. I couldn't resist trying out the red. It arrived this afternoon, and within 5 minutes I was on the phone requesting an RMA. I actually liked the color but couldn't handle the slippery, plastic feel of it. I thought it would be made of the same soft, grippy material of the black model that I loved. Shame on me for assuming. I don't have any extra cash right now, so I have to wait for UPS to return it, wait up to 14 days for the refund and order another black model (which knowing my luck will be back on a 3-4 week backorder). This time without a Nexus 5 is killing me...

The funny thing is that the Google Play Store rep knew nothing about the different colors being made from different materials. Ironically, I told him to "Google it".

Be warned the nexus bumper case is an utter piece of excrement. .within three day the soft touch finish wore away on the corners to reveal a very unattractive glossy finish .

Just bought a 32GB Black (I like Black phones, I'm boring, I know) and should be here by Tuesday, hopefully no later than Wednesday.

I'm coming from a Note 3 and cannot wait to get my hands on the Nexus. Wish I would have jumped in sooner. The Note 3 is a joke with its horrible GPS and WiFi.

Now looking into cases and screen protectors.

Bought a black nexus 5 16gb yesterday , actually was not in a mood to buy any phone, in the store I just checked the camera of Nexus 5 and Samsung s4 and was impressed with the camera performance of the nexus 5 and also loved the no nonsense look more hence just bought it . hope it serves well .

Just ordered my 2nd Nexus 5 32gb in black from the Play Store. I say second because I had one for about 2 months and sold it when the GPE M8 came out. After about a week on that phone, I'm going back to the Nexus. I just don't see where the extra $300 comes in between these two phones. The screens are roughly the same (M8 slightly brighter), and battery life and performance is also roughly the same. The M8 has better sound and a slightly better build, but it feels like a MUCH larger phone. And the camera - oh man, this is the big point - the camera on the GPE M8 is horrible after using the N5. It's a capable shooter, but it pales in comparison to the N5. It's also nice to have the SD card access, but it is limited in KitKat. The extra $300 just isn't there for me. Instead I ordered an N5 and N7 LTE for a little more than I paid for the M8. Can't wait to get back with the Nexus crew.

Got mine today. Also ordered a Diztronic Voyeur TPU case and a three pack of iSmooth screen protectors from Amazon. Couldn't be happier with the phone. I'm really impressed with the speed of the phone; it just seems snappier than my old One X. Can't wait to use it the next few days to get a real test of how it preforms.

Usually ships within a day. I overnighted one recently and it was here the next day.
