If any of you are like me, I am a bit worried. I have to make a decision, do I want to keep the 5X, or return it. So in this case shipping is extremely important to me to be timely. Yet just like a lot of you, my 10/1 order hasn't moved other than pending. With my dealings with google on the 5x being less than stellar thus far with having to contact them three times before shipping without a notice of a problem. I am worried I will miss the window and have to make a decision I wasn't ready to make to either keep, or return the 5X.

Haha... I don't know what I would do with it, but you do realize that you did a terrible job obscuring your order number, right? There are maybe 1-2 numbers that I can't easily make out, which means there are only 20 possibilities for guesses.

LOL, just don't cancel it! That would suck :)

Entitlement seems to be the easiest thing ever to defend. lol

But but but me first!

Thanks, Google, for giving me a reasonable delivery estimate for an unreleased product that I willingly agreed to accept when I clicked on the buy button and then getting me my phone early!

Would it matter if you didn't know others shipping info? Of course not.

And that's the reason it shouldn't matter now.

None of us know for sure why this is happening. And unless you have worked for a company trying to ship thousands or millions of devices to buyers, you can't really comment on the reasons for this happening. Just chill out and stop watching this forum. It just doesn't seem to be healthy to constantly watch something like this and to let it frustrate you.

Just my opinion.

My ship date is Nov 4th-6th, choose over night shipping, and I'm fine with waiting.

However I'm not fine with ordering the first week of October to only see that people who ordered let's say Oct 20th are seeing ship notifications while my order is still in the pending phase.

My only one complaint, is this. Google is doing this random thing and I don't think it's cool to the people that were early jump on's that ordered over a month ago. In all honesty it makes no sense. Has nothing to do with people voicing their opinion or being impatient. In all seriousness does it makes sense for some guy who ordered let's say a 32GB phone in Sept to still be pending while someone who ordered last week to have the same device shipped?

Because this is clearly what's going on.

Remember when your mom told you "I don't care what the other kids get to do"?

You have a grossly oversimplified view of logistics in your head. Just be glad you're getting your phone and you'll probably get it early. Just think if you never came to this forum you wouldn't be comparing yourself to others and you'd just be happy with what you have...

Just got shipping email just before 12pmEST.
Ordered 10/8, 32GB alum
Switched to Processing yesterday and CC charged
Shipping to GA from Google in CA, 3-5 business days

Yea!

I'm new here, but I have a lot of experience with large-scale logistics. I don't know if this will make you feel better, but this is not random. They are not prioritizing one consumer over another. What you are experiencing is large-scale logistics. When you purchased it has very little to do with what order you receive it in.

What does matter is parts, supplies and fabrication issues (each different option of the 9 may have it's own supply issues). Where they are being manufactured and how many of each (they decide to go heavy manufacturing some more than others e.g. 32g aluminum must have had a ton made). What shipping methods were offered, chosen by consumers and their geographical locations. The remnants of a hurricane are going through the southern U.S. That will possibly affect shipping to them for example.

TL;DR it's not random and they don't hate you. When we get it is multiple logistical decisions for them and a roll of the dice for us. I've got some early and waited for others.

Check your payments.google.com page. Unbeknownst to me, I had an issue with my payment method that I was not notified of and only figured out today with the assistance of a Google representative. There may be an issue or an explanation there for you.

No, there was no problem with my card. I did check the payment.google.com and everything is fine on there. When I chatted with the Order Support today, they said everything was fine on my end and was scheduled to ship on 11/13.

For those who are complaining cause they ordered a few days before others:

Is your money inherently worth more than someone who ordered a week later? Your $500 is actually worth $600? No. Hell, you don't even get charged until it ships!

So stop complaining. You haven't been wronged, Google doesn't owe you anything but a phone by the delivery date promised.

You'd think that people with $500 in their pocket would have enough life experience to understand that nothing is perfectly fair.

I'm like a kid about to enter the toy store right now folks. ETA is 10/29 8pm.. What!!! N6P will soon be in me hands!!!!

You couldn't be more wronger.

They watch this thread and they watch me personally and they do this to torment me. Clearly this is personal, I'm special and google is doing this to me because they hate me.

You may be correct, but it can still be a little confusing when you make your order at 10:46 on launch day, your coworker orders the exact same model a few days ago, and his ships first.

That said, i think mine will ship today so I don't really care. But it either suggests they're dealing with huge volume or something is wrong with my box.

Some maybe, but some have a point. People who ordered after day 1 are getting their phones before people who ordered on day 1?! Now does that make sense to you? It doesn't to me. I'm all for Google, been on Android since cupcake or donut, however the randomness of these fulfillments is aggravating. What's the point of 'pre-ordering' when they just ship out randomly anyway? There are some things I'll give Google a pass on, however their delivery of products I can't. It has always been terrible, and it still is to this day.

Seems like the overwhelming majority of those that have shipped are the 32gb models. I'd imagine that was the most produced and requested model.

Makes sense.
I work at a large telecom in supply chain and I'm considered a Subject Matter Expert within my company. Can't say for sure, but I can comment that within my company the promise dates are generated based on info at the time the order was placed. If more supply comes in after orders are placed new customers get orders faster. FIFO (first in first out) is not observed between customers as the mechanics of the ERP system would be very complex to handle such high quantities of orders.
My company deals with mostly enterprise customers, however I do agree, for consumer electronics, FIFO should be a standard at the customer level.

Just spoke to Google Support, they said the charge was put on my card for the second time just to make sure funds are ready for when it ships and that it would probably be a few more days before it actually ships out. I explained to them that I had already had an authorization charge done when I preordered on day one and they said this is normal for their system.

Graphite 64GB Google Site, 45 mins after Preorders started
Delivery: Nov 4th - 6th
CC charged 10/26 11am central
Switched to Processing 10/26 noon

What is your estimated delivery date on your order?

Ordered my 32GB Aluminum via Google on 10/15 with an estimated delivery date of 11/18-11/20. Just received an email this morning saying it's shipped already!! With the tracking number, Fedex says the estimated delivery date is 11/02, more than 2 weeks earlier than the original estimated delivery date. Looks like Google is taking an under-promise and over-deliver approach here. And it's certainly working to make me excited about the much earlier-than-expected arrival.:D

Sorry, was adding that as you posted this: leaves warehouse by Nov 2nd
Delivery: Nov 4th- 6th
