I think it might have to do with configuration. I ordered my 64 GB graphite on launch day and got the Nov 10-12 window. I don't think I've seen a different window for that configuration irrespective of the date ordered.

Ordered Nexus 6P (64GB, LTE, Aluminium) on Sept. 29, 2015.
I'm getting Oct. 30th - Nov. 3rd as my shipping estimate.
NOTE:
I ordered a Chromecast on the same day (9/29/15) and Received that Friday (10/2/15), the site says I should be getting it Oct. 7th - Oct. 14th. So I'm hoping they do the same with the Nexus 6p and I get it the week of Oct. 25th.

True, seems like based on config, it slotted you for a certain date range. I think only a select few who ordered graphites of 64gb or 128gb are getting it earlier. I actually just cancelled my order for my 64gb Aluminum, because I decided after the fact that I wanted the Nexus Protect added to it. So after I cancelled, and submitted a new order, I selected the Frost 64gb instead (watched a lot of hands-on videos, and it just looked sexy). I did this late (midnight 10/3 EST) yesterday and I received a 11/3-11/4 ship date! Not too shabby. Let's all hope that Google and Wa-Way beat the expectations.

I don't think Google wants this, but you can't ignore the fact that the Nexus devices are the ones that get the update and support directly from Google and not carriers or anyone else. In this regard they are exactly like the iphone which gets updates from Apple without carrier intervention. However, you can buy an iphone from a carrier and still get updates directly from Apple so there is still work to be done in this area.

If Google says they are not going to update my phone Ok they are not....but if a carrier says they are not..even though Google is sending updates...then something is wrong. It is WRONG enough for me to get rid of the carrier and move to getting phones and updates directly from the source.

This is exactly what I was trying to say, thank you. Google just needs to get this Nexus line our to the masses. The hardware seems to be coming around enough that more people would love to use a Nexus phone. I can't wait to get it, and show it to everyone.

I ordered within seconds of going live. I had guessed the urls (based on the N6 url) and had the pages auto refreshing every 5 seconds. The product pages were live before the main page was updated so I definitely was one of the first. As I was watching them and one 5 second refresh I was getting 404's and the next refresh the pages were live.

I ordered a white 5x 32gb first with a ship date of Oct 21 - Oct 22nd and an aluminum 64gb 6P and got a date of Oct 30th - Nov 3rd

Had a 128 aluminum with Nov 10-12. Canceled, ordered a frost white 128 today with ~3-4 week delivery (Nov 2-3 delivery says the receipt). Funny how that works. Will get it sooner than my day one order!

I just did the same thing. After watching some videos I decided I wanted the frost white.

I ordered the graphite 64gb and got the October 30 - November 3 delivery estimate! There just doesn't seem to be any true logic to delivery dates! But hey...... At least they didn't go sold out in seconds like last year!

I ordered the same exact configuration and have an estimated delivery date of Oct 27-28th. I ordered within minutes of ordering going live and opted for 1 day delivery.

Colour choice seems to make a difference as well. Graphite still 4 - 5 weeks on the UK store, and yet Aluminium and Frost both 3 - 4 weeks.

I'm hoping they're being over cautious and phones actually start going out sooner. Especially since my OnePlus One is limping along at this point!

128GB Aluminium here after cancelling the Graphite version. Graphite looks too dark IMO, the Z5 dark grey looks amazing, wish it was that shade. The "nexus" stamping on the Alu looks classier too and more prominent.

Now using an old Samsung Note 3
Waiting for Aluminum 64GB Nexus 6P - expected to ship between 3rd and 10 November - :-(

I just don't want to be disappointed by the camera. The rest can SUCK!!! but not Camera... please Google... I am begging you.
