Not when you live in the middle of the desert like I do and the closest place to go get a repair is 100 miles away. This option is better.

Well... Carphone Warehouse (UK) still says delivery expected on 22nd October on their website. I have just called them up and the lady told me they are expecting release/delivery to them on the 19th and delivery to be with me that week. (opted to buy the phone on contract rather than Sim free).

If this actually happens or not, time will tell.

I'm hoping the Google Store follows suit!

I am trying not to get excited as the pending 5x status really hasn't mean much other than something, somewhere, may be moving. At this rate with the lack of customer service support I will just be excited when the phone actually arrives. I am still perplexed why one would not be able to adjust their credit card information prior to shipping if their account was compromised. The leave it until it is declined, or cancel and reorder is not the appropriate level of service they should be providing. So here is to hoping I actually receive it one day.

Mine switched to Pending today, too.

Interesting that the graphic beside the status changed from an envelope to a pie chart. Not quite sure what that means, if anything, though.

I think that's supposed to imply a clock...

Google is literally ensuring a simultaneous worldwide release across several nations. Nexus 5X to be shipped October 21 onwards and 6P by Nov 4th here in India.:)

i won't say the wait is killing me, but this is my first pre-order for a phone. Guessing I'm just so used to amazon 2-day shipping that waiting a week, not to mention 5 weeks just feels so odd. It's not something you can really just forget about b/c it's not like you stop using your current phone.

Ditto. I'm a 46-year old guy who doesn't like to spend money very much, but when I do pull the trigger I just go and get whatever it is I have been saving my pennies for. Every day that I use my old Nexus 5, I am reminded of the looming change to my daily digital companion. I honestly haven't been this excited about getting something since probably I was a kid at Christmas. Stupid, I know, but I'm really jazzed up about this. :D

well, the leaked sprint document suggests the 6p will be available starting October 26th, and it said people could start sending activation requests as early as the 14th which coincides with the India announcement. So I'm going to assume that we will start seeing the first batches shipped on the 26th. It's the most solid piece of evidence we have gotten yet.

I've used Square Trade before to repair a damaged GS4. With discounts, the plan was about $75 with a $50 deductible per incident. The problem is that you have to get your phone repaired, send them the receipt, then they reimburse you. In my case, the screen was damaged so the repair shop I went to had to order a part, which took three days to order, ship, and install. That doesn't include the Saturday and Sunday either so essentially it was about five days I didn't have a phone. For a lot of people, that's a long time to be without a phone.

Apple Care is more costly but from the experience of my friends who have it and have had to use it, it is super convenient and fast. If Google can guarantee replacement within 2 days, it seems like a great plan to get.

Frost Went to pending! Ordered within min of launch. Nexus 6p frost.jpg

Still leaves warehouse in 2-3 weeks.....
No pending charges back on my credit card yet.
