Does anybody know if you're able to add nexus protect prior to order? Kinda dropped the ball there.
What day did you order? I cancelled my 5X order and ordered a 32 GB graphite on 10/2. Still no status change for me.
Ordered on release day, typed in both links before they were actually live. Bought both and decided later which one I would keep. The 6p won. Lol

No you cannot. At least not from anything I've seen reported by everyone else on the forum. They have e to be purchased at the the same time.

So I just talked with Amex customer service regarding activating a new chip card and its impact on previous orders/pre-orders. In short, since the charge was already authorized by Amex during the pre-order, activating a new card should not impact that authorization charge. For amex, that charge is already authorized for google for that specific amount and when google decides to officially charge, it should go through. So word of advice, don't try and change your order. Hope this helps.
6p Graphite 64 ordered 18 mins post announcement US. Date Nov 10-12 and status still pre-ordered. Not sure why I have such a late ship date even though i ordered within 20 mins post announcement. Anyone else in this situation?

I don't know how much it matters.... I ordered on 9/29, 64 GB Graphite within 10 - 20 minutes of the link going live. I've seen people with time stamps after mine with the same configuration as mine and their order has updated to pending from preorder (not sure what that even really means outside of maybe Google is trolling us) and they've seen it go from "Leaves warehouse in 2 - 3 weeks" to a specific date of October 27 while mine still says preordered and leaves in 2 - 3 weeks. My estimated delivery date is still October 30 - November 2... but on the flip side I've also seen people who ordered 64 GB Graphite BEFORE me and they have November 5th+ dates for delivery..... doesn't seem to be any real logic behind it??????

I ordered a 64G 6P Graphite via Project Fi at 8:45 PM on 9/29. When I go to wallet.google.com, it shows as as Pending with no additional data. When I go to the Play.google.com and look up orders, it shows as Preordered, with Nov 5 - 9 as the dates. Interestingly, the accessories I ordered as a separate order (cables, case and such) at 8:50 PM same day show as Pending 10/30 - 11/3. on the play.google.site.
The wallet site also shows a warranty Nexus 9 that has been shipped to me as Pending then it also says shipped, while play.google.com shows its status simply as shipped. Bring that uponly to show that the two ways to see status look a bit different and only the play site gives you the estimated delivery date. But both give you good dates once shipped.

I spoke twice in the last three days to Google customer service guys. They confirmed that it will be shipped on or before Nov 5th. I have also ordered a 64Gb aluminium.
Most likely they produce the phones in batches 32, 64, 128. These probably require changes in production - the source chips and labeling, etc
Then they probably attach the cases in batches also. So if you happen to be in the first batch of 64gb graphite phones, you're scheduled for a production run earlier.
Even if you ordered the same day as someone else, Google could have room out of its allocation of those units for the first run.

I ordered mine on the 29th as soon as orders opened.

That makes the most sense, but it's hard to draw any kind of pattern from this at all. I'm in the US. Utah, specifically. Got second day shipping. Expected delivery says Nov. 3-4.
Attempted to order a Nexus 6P Aluminium 64GB today - website says back-order. Anyone hear news as to when they'll be back in stock?

It's still in stock at GetHuawei. You won't get a few extras like the $50 Play store credit, or the option to buy Google Protect, but you would get the phone sooner. Might save on tax too:

Maybe we should list more information like the shipping to location and order date & time to help determine Googles shipping method.
