Well everyone. I finally got the best answer I have ever heard. This is probably some news to everyone as I have not seen it posted here.

From Google Rep Christie B:

The orders are being assigned when they come in automatically to an IMEI that matches the phone to your order. If your orders IMEI had a problem during production than this is what caused the delay. Instead of giving you the next available phone, they are waiting for the one that matches the IMEI to be created. So if someone has an order after us, and their IMEI is ready, the phone will then go through the process of shipping.

So cheers everyone, maybe one day an IMEI will be created for our original orders that actually matches and we will get a phone.

Woot, my order went to shipped status. Checked at 7PM PST. Got tracking but not showing yet so they probably ship tomorrow?

In the span of 24 hours, my order went from pending > processing > shipped. Out for delivery, scheduled to arrive today. I didn't pay for overnight shipping (I took the free version) but apparently got it anyway. I'm in a Los Angeles suburb and the phone is was shipped from Mira Loma.

I ordered mine from Huawei on 10/19 since none were in stock on the Google Play Store. I really thought I would have mine by now. Ordered the 64 GB Silver one since they weren't selling the 128 GB model at the time.

I've done several online chats with them and was told it would ship by the end of last week and receive the 1st week of Nov since I placed my order before 10/21. Orders after 10/21 would be shipped the middle of Nov, however as of today, 11/4 it still says processing. Makes me pretty upset since I see others getting their phones and they ordered theirs after me. You would think getting your phone from Huawei would be faster, but apparently not.

I'll be happy once it ships, but then their delivery time appears to be slow also with a 5-7 days for shipping.

I ordered on 10/1 from Huawei and it JUST shipped out on 11/2 at 7:30 at night. Is being delivered Friday 11/6.

This is an issue for me now because i ordered the same on fri night but it said ship by nov 12th now it says ship in 1 to 2 days for new orders im still pending

i ordered a 32gb Aluminum on 11/3 and it's shipped today to be delivered tomorrow (i got overnight shipping)

i had such high hopes for a smooth nexus launch this year with how it started out. (i was in huawei ordering hell before i cancelled with them, got bored and ordered from google)

maybe next year google can finally get their crap together

That's absolutely unacceptable. I cannot believe Google as an organization cannot do better that this.

yea that makes no sense since they aren't tying it to your account on the phone OR giving you an activated device on a carrier.

there's no reason to tie the IMEI to the order pre-production. if anything when a phone is ready to ship, scan it at that point and tie an IMEI to the order.

I just received my shipping email for my 64GB Graphite ordered 10/1 from the Google Fi site.

FYI, mine is shipped FedEx. I called because usually no one his home until 6P. The rep said signature authorization is not required but depending on where you live, drivers may not leave it at the front. She suggested I leave a sign telling the FedEx delivery person to leave it at front door. I live in a gated community and know my neighbors so I felt safe doing this.

Right folks, last update from me. finally received my delivery email confirming its been shipped and be with me tomorrow. This matches the original estimate of 3 - 5 Nov timescales. Had Google been more upfront with their communications, I wouldn't have to participate in this forum, however was comforting seeing that mine was not an isolated issue. I do hope you all get yours soon.

The process is designed such away that we don't have access to edit manually.
Hence, its purely works on first come first serve.
