I've owned everything, and the Nexus 6p is still the best!

I have the Pure. I like it for the most part, but there's annoying little things about it that drive me up a wall.

The Nexus 6P would be the only thing I would buy at this point because, frankly, I have lost faith in the Lenovo in Motorola's clothing. Lenovo has pretty much gotten rid of everything that made the Moto line great, and it doesn't look like they're replacing it with better stuff.

I do want the fingerprint reader, and the faster updates. Not to mention the support offered by Google is unparalleled at this point. I've been training myself by turning off Moto features to make the transition easier, but I know I'm going to miss the chop-chop flashlight.

Since I paid full price, $550, for this device, I'm having trouble justifying the $750 leap to the 6P, (That's for the 128GB storage and Nexus Protect.) That's why I'm asking around for those that jumped to the 6P from the Moto Pure. Most of the comparisons online aren't really that in-depth.

The Nexus 6p actually has a better sensor than the S7. More detail, shoots better in low light, and does not wash out certain detail(such as a blue sky, background info, etc) However, the lens is slightly slower. Recently, Colby Brown has been shooting with the 6p with the new Lightroom app. Looks far superior to Samsung or the iPhone. There's an insane amount of dynamic range. This was shot with raw.

I just tried lightroom on my S7E and was very disappointed. The view was dark and so were the pics even with exposure comp at plus two. The settings were sparse, way fewer than offered on my S7. One good thing may have been the ability to shoot raw. I've used many editions of Photoshop and a few of Lightroom on computers but this edition is no better than many other apps on Android.

The S7 /E didn't chase the pixel race that so impreses rubes. Instead it increased pixel size for better quality. The image sensor size in cell phones is miniscule compared to point and shoot cameras. They in turn compare poorly to APS C size sensors which are smaller than the 24 mm x 36 mm sensors that compare to 35 mm film cameras.

If you really want to take some photos buy a $300 Canon point and shoot or a Fuji XT 100 for a $1,000 instead of fooling yourself with a toy.

Totally agree...I think that the 6P is certainly the best overall phone package that you can buy at the moment. It is easily the best phone I have ever owned.

Great phone..... Still seems a little large to grip but I do love it

From a locked screen you can turn on the flashlight with a two finger swipe down and a tap. Or, you can just " ok Google flashlight on"

Just ditched my s7 edge and got the gold 6p at best buy. This thing is peddle to the metal compared to the s7 edge despite older internals. I have come to the conclusion that I should stick with stock because it really is the best version of Android for me

I came from a Moto X Pure to the 6P more by neccesity than choice. The Moto developed a nasty screen issue that was unfazed by parition cleaning and factory resets. This was around the time that Lenovomoto's crappy repair issues were being brought to light. I HAD to have a phone that worked 100% of the time, and rather than buy a cheapie to tide me over for the 1-2months i could end up waiting i just said screw it and made the plunge.

I love this phone. The addition of a full multicolor notification LED is something i never want to do without again. With the right app installed and set up i can tell exactly what ive missed at a glance. I never understood the love affair with Moto Display, and after using it 6 months i still dont.
The screen is gorgeous. Believe the hype over AMOLED and the fantastic contrast and blacks. Again, something i didnt have any experience with but will never want to not have.
Fingerprint reader works fast. Every time. Love it.
Performance is equal to the Pure...i really dont notice a difference between the 810 and 808 with 3 GB each. Smooth stock android goodness.
Truley being the first to get updates rocks

In summary, its a far more enjoyable experience . I knew i was going Nexus on my next phone. That being said, if my X wasnt as buggy as it was....i would have waited till the new Nexus is unveiled in 5-6 months and just tough it out.

I am pretty much done with this M9. I also am leaning towards more of a phablet this time around and a stock experience since I have never had a Nexus device and the 10 seems like a tweener at 5.2" but Sense is getting closer to stock. I could wait until the new Nexus but that's at least another 6 months so I am not sure I want to wait that long. My carrier plan allows me out of my 2 year contract one year early on April 15th. So I will make up my mind after the the HTC 10 presentation on the 12th and then wait for some preliminary reviews. I was playing around with the 6P at a store. That phone has aged well. It's too bad the 4K doesn't have stabilization but the camera itself is better than the S7 in low light and shoots 1080P just as well. There is a bit of lag processing and focusing compared to the S7 but that is more of an issue on HDR+ mode. I don't know. We'll see.

My HDR processing flies after decrypting the storage.

Enjoying my device more and more every day. While I liked my MX Pure, I really feel like this phone just hits it out of the park. May stay put until 2017...Which would be a long stretch for my phone addicted rear end.

I actually bought the 6P already about 2 weeks ago. I have no interest in rooting phones anymore so I won't be able to decrypt. Since the last camera update the HDR processing is is done in the view screen not the camera app screen so I can keep taking pictures without the wait. That said the lack of OIS on video is still a downer. Overall I think the shots I taken have been great though.

Kinda excited I have had this phone for almost a week and I am in love with it. There's a reason it's a top ranker and totally worth the price and more. I didn't know what to think at first but this phone is amazing

You can still see it processing if you view the picture right after you take it.

Nope. For me to see the HDR working I have to click on my small circle with the picture and it takes me to the viewer. Then I see that horizontal bar going across.

HDR+ takes multiple identical exposures (that's the spinning circle) then processes them in the background (the horizontal bar in the picture viewer).

HDR+ will always take longer to process compared to other phones because it's doing a lot more processing.

When I was testing the 6P out in the store a couple months ago I would have to wait for that horizontal bar to go across the screen within the Camera App before I could take another picture. That isn't the case now. I am not sure why I seem to have a different version.

You just said the same thing but in different words.

Because Google updated the Camera app.

The Nexus 6P ist the first phone that makes me feel that I do not need to get anything else for a while. Normally I buy two to three phones a year. This year I am tempted by the HTC 10, but the Nexus 6P already has what I like on a phone. It is fast, it has a great display, its camera is very good and the software is great. The only thing I am missing is the hardware quality of the HTC 10 (not that the Nexus 6P is bad, it is very good, but I think not as premium as the HTC 10).
I will wait for the next Nexus and see what happens. I am still in love with the Nexus 6P and I have it since last November. It is the most personal device I have ever owned.
