The HTC EVO LTE just popped up on HTC's official site and I compared it to both the One X/S. There's a couple of discrepancies that I noticed... the EVO LTE has the camera described like this, "(Main): 8MP color CMOS with auto focus; (Front): 1.3MP color CMOS Front Camera; Back Side-Illuminated (BSI Sensor); HTC ImageChip" whereas the X/S shows it like this, "(Main): 8MP, f/2.0, BSI, Single LED-Smart Flash, ImageChip, 1080p HD Video with Stereo Sound; (Front): 1.3MP with 720p video". The other thing I noticed was the display, on the EVO LTE, "4.7-inch 1280x720 HD with IPS technology (In Plane Switching); Capacitive touch screen" and on the One X, "4.7-inch HD super LCD 1280x720". I though that they were going to mirror one another except for the aesthetics. Which is better or are they essentially the same? One more question, with the announcement that NVIDIA is working on a LTE compatible Tegra 3 quad-core, do you think Sprint/AT&T will eventually drop the S4 version of each of their respective One X version and switch to the quad-core when it becomes available?

AFAIK, camera and display are the same. The PR's were different depending on whether they came from Sprint or HTC.

Wouldn't worry about it.

Phil the only knock I have on my Evo 4G is that the speaker
sound quality. especially the highs and mid range are far inferior to the my sisters iphone 4s.. The iphone speaker sound so

Easily fixed by one of two ways. A different keyboard or shave your thumbs to sharper tips. I recommend the first option

I've personally never seen these issues... Sounds like user error. I can tell you with big screens comes easier typing.

Do you know what keyboard apps will be loaded on the phone? Personally, if they're going with the older version of Swype, I'd just as soon have them leave it off so I can install the latest Swype beta.... Of course, I can do this by rooting if I have to.

I dont have that problem anymore on stock ICS - autocorrect recognizes it and does it correctly. B, V, and N are ignored, and it corrects to a space instead

My question, and this might be hard to answer, is do you think this phone will be able to run the next version of Android? I'm coming from a EVO 3D, which I love, but I'm disappointed with the lack of support from HTC and Sprint. And this phone has to last me at a minimum twenty months.
Also, especially interested in call quality and signal strength, since the Sprint service is not good in my area.

I think he means like how the original Evo pretty much lost support from HTC (new builds and such (other than the whole carrier IQ update)). It has even lost most support from the rooted dev community. Will it be big enough to keep support through a full 2 year contract term?

As new phones come out, old ones support lessens. Its just how it goes. No phone will have the same support from anyone 1 1/2 years into its life as it had at 4 months
