Since I am on AT&T and I got the last update in late December, I am just pretending updates happen at the end of the month. You should try it. Really brings back that feeling of being impressed by Google's timely monthly updates.
1/13. Still no OTA for my P4xl, Google, unlocked, AT&T. Not going to sideload. Going to wait to see how bad AT&T's service has become. Was late last month too.
This reminiscent of when Google got all the carriers on board to sell the Nexus 6. Carrier vs Unlocked, the phone was the same and is the case with the Pixel 4. The N6s sold by carriers were sim locked accept the Verizon version and all had locked boot loaders. It was also the case that Google was ultimately the one who pushed OTAs with carrier blessing. Because at&t sold the N6 they got a say on when OTA's were pushed to N6's with an at&t sim. Problem is that the carrier versions and the unlocked version were technically the same phone and Google didn't Differentiate between them. The only divider with google is your SIM. Even if if you bought the unlocked N6 from google, OTA's were still controlled by at&t if you had an at&t sim. It was a mess because the OTA's would splinter so much with the N6. People were often side loading the wrong OTA because of this. Google didn't even label OTA's for specific carriers at all at first. I think they started later but people had to guess. At&t often let the N6 fall way behind on updates and I had to sideload to keep up. I think there wasn't an approval for at least six months once. Anyways, I'm watching right now with my Pixel 4 but I'm hoping at&t is better and I don't see a N6 repeat. N6 PTSD here. HA
