Jelly Bean 4.2 Camera

Excuse my nubeness, but I'm still a bit fuzzy about how to install this. I know you can manually install it by changing the permissions. But I see that you can flash it through recovery also, when flashing through recovery do you need to do anything different with the file beforehand or do you flash it like you would with something like the gapps?

Trying to grab t04 now for the Photosphere viewer, but in general I've had lots of success with the original three files from the first three posts on GSM Galaxy Nexus (US Play Store variant) running nightly CM10. There is, however, one issue that's cropped up for me. When recording video, there are a bunch of pops that come through in the audio for the first few seconds of recording. After that, the issue appears to go away. Any thoughts?

I'm at work right now so I can't get a sample uploaded. I can post something later for confirmation if no one else is noticing this.

The sphere viewer wasn't working for me until i went ahead and flashed the zip someone posted a few pages ago. This is very cool, but the final image doesn't stitch together very well when I do an entire room. I'm even sitting in a computer chair and slowly rotating to every point. Hope nobody walks by my office

Nothing special to do. After flashing through recovery, reboot. If you're like me, you'll now have a new camera and gallery icon. That means you will have two of each. One each old, one each new. Use the new, experiment and have fun.

For developers: the problem with languages goes like this, if GPS tagging is selected and English isn't the system language, it hangs when rendering. It's weird, because photospheres aren't GPS tagged at all...

Hey dmmark, did YOU deodex the camera app? Or did someone else? If u did, how did u?

Place the system/framework directory of the Nexus4 dump in the same folder of smali and baksmali. Then do:
Code:
java -jar baksmali.jar -a 17 -x GalleryGoogle.odex -d framework -o deodex
java -jar smali.jar -o classes.dex deodex
Then use WinRAR or similar to put the classes.dex inside GalleryGoogle.apk. Zipalign and sign the apk. Done!

I have a SGS3 rooted with stock rom. Ive looked but cant find the solution to this. After I align the first blue dot and the first picture is taken if I pan to any other blue dots no picture is taken. If I align any blue dots nothing happens. All I can do is hit the blue stop circle button. Then I only have 1 image. Any solutions?

Idea for HDR:
Decompile(APKTool)
find
res/values/strings.xml

change
<string name="pref_camera_hdr_default">@string/setting_off_value</string>
to
<string name="pref_camera_hdr_default">@string/setting_on_value</string>

Recompile. Done.

I just flashed the Zip from Android police and everything works great except for the video camera. the Photosphere especially is wicked cool. i took a 360 pic of my office and it pieced it all together perfectly and when you scroll to that picture in my gallery it shows a sphere under it, when you tap the sphere it lets you look at it in a 360 degree angle

Bacon in my coffee please? you don't have any bacon??!! Unacceptable!!!

Awesome, everything works 100% for me on my Verizon GNex.

One thing I noticed was that each individual Photosphere picture has a lower resolution than a normal photo. I was disappointed when the original panorama feature was using lower resolution photos, and I hoped that Photosphere would use full resolution... Thoughts, anyone?

GREEEAAAAT.... You are right. If you disable geotagging in the gallery app it dont crash at the end of rendering, also with another language. Thx for this easy workaround!

What are you talking about?

The method works with most phones that have a gyroscope.

It works fine on the Nexus S4g. I do get a error when trying to edit a photo using google edit. But that's ok since I use Aviary for editing anyones. Just testing. Camera works great. Haven't tried sphere yet.

He's talking to me. He was too lazy to read the thread to find out that people already had this working on his phone and he then asked where the files were. I simply told him he was lazy for not even checking or reading.

Newly saved pictures from the interwebs don't show up in the download folder in the new gallery. My old pics are there from before the camera/gallery update and I can see the new pics with root explorer in the download folder.
