Jelly Bean 4.2 Camera

I moved Gallery2.apk to my sdcard, flashed the zip, everything works, including the sphere and video.

I followed your instructions and its still not working for me. Every time I try to open the gallery or the camera I guess "Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped"

Verizon Galaxy Nexus Stock Rooted 4.1.1

Are you using the flashable zip that is linked in the OP and not just the apk that is there?

Just tried this and still no dice. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Does not work on my Sony Ericsson Live with walkman:
My rom stock ics .587 based Xperia Ultimate r1 v5 by Kobazaar

Issues:
Camera runs okay. But no options
When I switch to New panorama it force closes and doesn't even shows any errors.

Gallry okay
But when I go edit a photo it force closes.

I copied all the libs and apk and set correct permissions and also deleted predefined cam and gallery app before.

It works, the editor has stopped FCing.

Get it while it's hot.

Install:

Push to system/lib
Change permissions to RW-R-R
Reboot

I am Using Samsung Galaxy S II.. every thing work OK and fine!.

Just the Editor is still keep force closing.. can you help?

I have copied libjni_filtershow_filters.so to system/lib and changed permissions to RW-R-R already.

When I click the "3 Circules" the Apps Freezed.. ~_~

Using a Galaxy S3 on Verizon and I flashed the zip file in CWM. Photosphere, panorama, and editing work fine. Taking a regular picture does not. I saw that someone mentioned that taking pictures with the flash on force closes, but mine is force closing flash or no flash. As soon as I snap a picture it freezes and then when I go to the gallery it shows the picture as all gray. I go back to the camera and then it says that it can't open the camera so I have to reboot. If I use the old camera icon I can take pictures no problem, any ideas?

OP, did you make a new flashable zip using the latest apk's from the Nexus 4 system dump? Seems that they are newer versions :) Maybe we'll get the panorama viewer for the phone :D

Idea for HDR:
Decompile(APKTool)
find
res/values/strings.xml

change
<string name="pref_camera_hdr_default">@string/setting_off_value</string>
to
<string name="pref_camera_hdr_default">@string/setting_on_value</string>

Recompile. Done.

Does this idea work? You have HDR running?

From XDA:

Could you look at the app for camera - rumor has it that it's newer and different that those ones in this thread...

I am running this "newer" version and I haven't spotted anything that the older version doesn't have. Seems to be the same to me, but I haven't spent a lot of time with it

Same thing unless there are 2 different dumps. If they are using the system dump from yesterday, then it is the same thing.

Just flashed? did u delete the gallary and 3d gallery of Sony?
sorry, whats your phone model?

I have the Verizon Nexus.
I did not delete the gallery, I just moved gallery2.apk to my sdcard in case I didn't like the new camera.
I should also state, when I used the one from this thread (redirected from rootzwiki) the camera worked, but the sphere did not. I flashed the one from xda, and the sphere worked.

That's because they did not update when I did. Be rest assured, Android Central had the first completely operational camera application. Everyone else simply used or modified myself.

I'm not taking anything away from your work, I saw your name and posts from rootzwiki.
I did come back to this thread after seeing that it had been updated with a working photosphere, flashed it, took a photo, hit the sphere icon, and it didn't work for me, that's when I went to xda.

If everyone else built on or copied your work then thanks for getting it all started.
