Jelly Bean 4.2 Camera

I'm not taking anything away from your work, I saw your name and posts from rootzwiki.
I did come back to this thread after seeing that it had been updated with a working photosphere, flashed it, took a photo, hit the sphere icon, and it didn't work for me, that's when I went to xda.

If everyone else built on or copied your work then thanks for getting it all started.

Interesting. No reason it shouldn't have worked if you pushed it manually. We have the same phone :).

Now, that's not to say that they have not improved it. The nature of my job is that if I get slammed, I don't even have the time to eat :p

dmmarck, He said that he flashed it, which I believe. The latest flashed file available by mariusox is in post #499. After I flashed it yesterday, photosphere viewer did not work. I then installed it manually and it did work. so there may be something funky in the flash file.

Hmmm, hopefully mariusox can get on and opine a bit.

FWIW, I flashed the latest version yesterday and everything is working, including the sphere photo viewer.

So I got very confused yesterday, I went to take a picture, which obviously took. I took it with the old camera, and it showed the thumbnail in the lower right as always. However, it didn't appear as the first image when I swiped to view it from the camera, and I was worried my camera wasn't saving pictures! New camera was doing this too. I come to find out, all my photosphere images were appearing before everything else in both galleries.

Anyone else seeing this? And is there any way around it? Obviously not a huge deal, but it would be nice if my most recent pictures would appear first...

I followed the instructions moved the file in systems/app and then changed the permissions to rw-r-r and rebooted the phone, it says gallery stopped working. Any help?? I have a GNx 4.1.2 yakju
Thanks

I tried both zips (yours and XDA) and manually pushing it then changing permissions (including GMSCore). Still does nothing when I touch the photosphere icon. I am running AOKP JB M1 on a toro. Everything else works.

Did you reboot?

Works smoothly on tmous HD2 running AOKP 4.1.1 . Only downie is video not being saved and sphere bugging out a bit (besides me having no clue how to use it xD ). Love the new camera and gallery, first stock JB gallery that worked for me on hd2.

Hi!

That's not working for me. I always receive the "The Gallery stopped" message when I choose between the two camera software.

I have a Samsung GT P3110 with AOKP Milestone 1:
Android: 4.1.2
Kernel: 3.0.8-AOKP-g9c66c5b-dirty curtis@ubuntu))
#1 SMP PREEMPT Sat Sep 29 15:5646 EDT 2012
AOKP version: aokp_p3110_jb_milestone-1
Version number: aokp_p3110-userdebug 4.1.2 JZO54K eng.sethyx.20121029.064101 test-keys

I am new at this droid world :)

Out of curiousity... has anyone taken any really good photosphere shots? Mine come up a bit jagged and sometimes when you circle around going back to the original point, it seems off... as if the compass isn't accurate on the gyroscope.

There's gotta be some technique to taking proper photosphere pics.

I took one that turned out really well IMO

I did it by taking the first 3x3 picture grid directly in front of me, and moving to the left and taking another 3x3, until I wrapped around at which point I did the top and then the bottom of the sphere. Also, Outside works far better than inside.

I still have some jagedness going on, but not much.

Yeah, you'll always get some jaggedness here and there. Did you do this in Portrait or Landscape mode? And yeah, I think my problem was that the indoor might have messed it up a bit.
