Jelly bean ota - who got it?

Is it me or did the stock keyboard in JB get worse?

For whatever reason, I'm noticing missed autocorrections. That is, autocorrections that would typically happen now sometimes don't. For example, today I saw the word "begter" which usually autcorrects to "begger" but it missed it for some reason. I've seen this happen a few times with other words ("wqnt" not correcting to "want" is another example). Why is it now missing auto corrections? This never happened in ICS.

Also, after double spacing to get a period, I can't backspace by holding down. I have to double tap backspace to get it going. I can't tell if this is some sort of "safety" feature or a glitch with the backspace. In general, backspacing is a lot slower and less smooth than it was in ICS.

I don't know what it is, but something about the JB keyboard seems like a minor step backwards. It's overall a bit less responsive and slower. My settings are Very Aggressive Corrections and Predictive Text OFF.

Not sure what happened..

And is it me, or did they sort of miss the point of shortcuts? I wish shortcuts would just automatically change to the desired phrase instead of merely adding it to the suggestion bar, which makes it an additional step to make the change. :T

Look! I'm not the only one: Issue 34866 - android - Android 4.1.1 keyboard - after double spacing for a period, holding the backspace key does nothing. - Android - An Open Handset Alliance Project - Google Project Hosting

Thoughts, you folks?

Does it void my warranty, after flashing mygnex from yakjuxx to yakju or takju..

Yes, but who cares?

You can always flash back to stock, unroot and lock the bootloader back up if you have any problems. The supplier will never know you did anything to it.

Not going to happen ASAP, or any time soon for that matter. If you know Samsung, you know they take forever with rollouts. You're going to be waiting for a long while.

Just flash it. You'll be glad you did.

I'm done with the waiting. Ready to flash to yakju 4.04 & then try the trick. According to the instruction, it looks like it is not a hard job. Wishes me good luck.

Yep, that's the way to go.

You'll be fine. And very happy when you're finished. ;)

Once I flashed the yakju to my GNex, the 4.1 updates just began to download. And now, I'm enjoying the amazing 4.1 JB. :)

Now, I would like suggest anyone who get stuck with the yakju** to flash his phone.

Just ordered my nexus from Google play got it yesterday and as soon as I turned on the phone I received an update notification

Wait the official ones are coming out ota as in stock unrooted??

You must be running the stock ROM , but it doesn't matter if you're rooted or not.

Remember you must have the takju or yakju firmware to recieve the OTA from Google. If you have a yakju** phone, your updates come from Samsung - which wont happen for awhile.

Got mine Monday and got the OTA not 10 minutes after turning on the phone. As soon as it was downloaded and installed I unlocked the bootloader and rooted it.

i got 4.3 on wednesdayevening (the Netherlands) and i'm not happy. all apps and android basics work well but when i shortly power off - the phone comes live again spontenous after 5 to 30 seconds. anybody else ?

Received the 4.3 OTA a couple of days ago...Only problem I'm having is charging has been acting up. Its been a PITA. Nexus 4 is doing the same thing.

EDIT: It appears to be the cable. Switched to 2 others and its solved the problem. The cable may have been finicky before the update...With this problem fixed neither my N4 or the GN are having problems. Netflix still works. Along with everything else I have had time to try.
