Jelly bean pushing now!!!!

how long does it take from when they start pushing to when everyone has the update available to them?

Talked to Google support they said the U.S GSM is the first to get the update push and could take a week to two.

A week or two? That's a lot different than what all the announcement posts have said across the internet that it'll be a matter of days.

I agree. A week to two weeks is much different than what's being reported.

Seeing as how this is my first Nexus, I really want to do this right and wait it out for the official OTA. But having been on the JB Dev Preview Rom, I'm really missing Project Butter and Google Now. Has anyone else spoken to and received similar news from Google Play reps?

I can't believe they have sold a super large number of GSM Galaxy Nexus? Wonder why it would take so long? I am starting to feel silly checking for updates every hour

I was very reticent to try a manual installation, but I got tired of waiting and it worked out great. Nothing changed... except for the sweetness that is JB. RIP, Siri... Google Now is all that and a bag of chips!

I've never unlocked my bootloader or done anything of the sort until now. I posted the details in the Sticky re: 4.1.1 if anyone's interested.

I ordered 2 gnex phones right before the ban . Im using one right now and the other one is still unopened. If I open the other one, do you think jellybean will be pushed to it once I turn it on ?

I'll bet if you believe hard enough, it'll come true! Trololo :D

All joking aside, I'm sure the unopened phone has no more of a chance of getting the update than any other GNexes

I don't understand why they would announce the official OTA of JB on Google+ last night if literally no one would be getting it the next day. Why not just wait to announce the push until, oh i dunno, it is actually gonna happen?

I've stopped checking as of early this morning. It will just show up when it shows up.

btw I've only heard of 2 people who claim to have received the official JB so far.

I too will stop checking as of tonight. I've been checking pretty much every hour since yesterday. No hurry anyways...I'll check back in a week or so.

i am still waiting on the ota update in arkansas. i have been checking for the update every few mins as well. i want that update.

Yeah that's basically me too......I remember the angst I put myself through hoping Motorola would update my first Android phone(Backflip) from 1.5 to 2.1......:p

I've only had this phone a week and am pretty content knowing that the update will come and I won't be waiting on a manufacturer or a carrier.

Anyone know if it's safe to assume that the GSM unlocked G'Nex with "yakjuxw" will also get the OTA to 4.1?? I understood that ANY variation of the GSM models would get it...

If not would i need to flash "takju" in order to get it?

Thx!

I haven't seen any site giving away the download link for the Yakjuxw-version... but if you're skilled enough, you can Google for "Change yakjuxw to yakju" One way I found to hard and for the other you have to speak German... so yeah xd

I have two gnex phones and one got it right after I did the clear framework trick. The other one, I cleared the framework three times and it got it on the third. Could just be bias, but it certainly wasn't working on either of them until I did that.

And I don't know about the diffs from 4.1 to 4.1.1 because I didn't try 4.1. However, the different from 4.0.4 is a good bit. The menu is definitely noticeably smoother. I compared using my two before I updated the second. Also, Google Now is just awesome. I haven't figured out all the useful commands, but it responds to a lot and only gives me typos on ambiguous words.

Although, I was excited to once again have the microbes live wallpaper when I switched from SGSII to Gnex, and now I've lost it once again. :'( Now is worth it though. I used voice controls quite a bit before, but it is nearly flawless now and I find myself using that and the notifications from now quite a bit.
