I must say, Ive been running this application for a couple of days now and Im amazed. I left it on the Balanced mode and havent had any problems with the app at all. With my normal use, which isnt really heavy, from 6am to 7pm the Battery was at 53% the first day. The next day I took the phone off the charger at 10am and at 9:45pm its at 43%. I guess what it does is shuts the data off while the phone is in sleep mode, for 15 minutes at a time. You can still recieve calls and texts. But you wont get your Emails and other syncing apps to happen instantly. But really for a short amount of minutes its worth giving that up for the battery life. When you unlock the screen, everything turns back on within a few sectons like either your WiFi or if the Data is off for that cycle that you turn it on, it immediatly turns back on.

Its really worth a try. Im amazed at how much this has made a HUGE difference. But I will say. If your using the phone constantly like your normally would, you will see the battery drain just as it normally did when you used it before. But the program goes mainly in effect with the screen in sleep mode. Id say give it a shot. Im Thorughly impressed.

What you explained might as well be the reason I'm having problems with my streaming music apps: Google Music and Orb Live. Orb Live especially is shutting off after it plays one track. Then I get the "error" message saying no internet connection. I guess when the screen goes dark, JuiceDefender comes into play and thinks I'm not using any other app. Bummer! I'll uninstall JD tomorrow and see if Orb Live works normally. I cannot live without my streaming music apps. :)) I'll report back in a day or two... Other than that, I really like JD.

True. Just disable Juice Defender when your playing your music. Or go into the customize settings and set it to where the data network wont turn off.

Kreatur3 and Terrigno,

Both are excellent options. I'll try disabling it first since I don't have the option to customize. I'm still using the beta free version and not the plus.

Thats your best bet bud. Just disable it when your running your music. Turn it back on after. Day 3 now and the battey is strong. See I notice with this program that it saves the battery the best when your not using the phone. But once you start using it heavily, the battery will drain quickly. Its really rare that I use the phone heavily for me though. But the program is sweet!

I was using the free version for a few days and could tell an improvement with battery life, but I kept having issues where my data wouldn't work when I started using my phone. I would have to disable data connection and then re connect for my data to start working again. Anyone else had that problem? It happened probably 5 times in the 3 days I used it.

I havent had that problem. And its possibly because your using the free "beta" version. With Beta being the key word there. Upgrade to Plus. Then give it a shot.

Hi guys,
This is Albie with Latedroid.
Thanks for your interest in JuiceDefender!

Just wanted to quickly point out a couple of things.

@Egidio
JuiceDefender Plus and Ultimate have a feature called "App trigger" which allows to enable or disable connectivity when specific apps run. In other words you can configure JuiceDefender so that it leaves connectivity on when a specific app is running (even when the screen is off).

@Scottyb
JuiceDefender has a great Support Forum for technical issues like yours: http://Support.JuiceDefender.com. The community is very active and, if your issue has not been fixed already (try with a quick search first), I'm sure someone will provide you with an easy fix to this.

Hope this helps!

Albie, thanks for you note. I did use the forum support at Latedroid and got excellent results. I also purchased JuiceDefender Plus and cannot find enough words to praise this app. It is mos definitely a must-have app in any Android phone. I have it set not to interfere with my music apps, and it is working perfectly well, as expected. I go through the day not worrying about plugging in my Infuse to recharge until late, before going to bed. I run music apps via bluetooth, also use wifi, email and twitter and still end the day with enough juice to last longer. Great app you guys created!

I was curious if anyone is running JD while running setCPU. From the information I received, I believe JD also has some say in the CPU control. Would running both apps at the same time cause an issue or slow the phone down?

I don't use Juice Defender (yet). I have Background Data disabled (I only turn it on when I absolutely need it), have the screen brightness down to lowest level (I only turn it up when I am in sunlight), I have all of my "syncing" applications (like emails etc) set to sync Manually, and every time I am done using my phone I immediately use my Task Manager to turn off all running apps AND to clear both Level1/Level2 RAM. Doing this, I don't reach 50% battery power until the end of the second day and 30% the end of the third day, which is when I will recharge. Given this battery life, would JD still benefit me? I have average use of the phone daily (mostly texts, some browsing, a few phone calls).

leday, it sounds like you're already doing most everything that JD does, you're just doing it manually. I've had the beta for a couple of days and I think I'm ready to buy the Plus version because it really is helping a lot, but it sounds like I might use my phone a bit more than you do.

I tried it. While it was nice the only real advantage was that it could turn my network off when the screen is off. Only problem with that is I am always texting on my phone so it constantly switches on and off. I just don't think it was helping that much having to do that over and over. Plus I'm not a huge fan of apps constantly running. I removed it as my battery life was just fine before it.

Actually, I think that I've changed my mind. I just bought and downloaded the Ultimate upgraded, not realizing that it was just an addition to the Beta version. I then deleted the Beta. Ultimate wouldn't work, so I deleted it, then Google canceled my order immediately so I couldn't download it again. That's sort of a nice feature, except that five minutes ago I paid $4.99, and now it wants ~$7.14.

Ummmm...no.

Check the Amazon Android Apps store. Sometimes apps are cheaper there. I got JuiceDefender Plus for a $1 less at Amazon.

You can enable 3rd party sources in the Application settings tab to install from Amazon.

I managed to get the price back to $4.99 by restarting the phone, I have no idea what caused that, does anyone else?

Oh yea that whole app is kind of tricky which I did not like. Way too many different versions and all way over priced. Very misleading and confusing. Not to mention you can't actually find the original non beta version on either market. I had to actually download it from a website lol.

The beta version only matters if you are not interested in purchasing the plus or ultimate version. I got the plus upgrade and it works wonders on my phone so far.
