JUMP! On Demand

Also on our very own AC Blog :)
T-Mobile announces JUMP! On Demand, allowing customers to upgrade at any time | Android Central

Seems like a cool addition. Now I'm not sure how it'll play out for current JUMP! users... it does say they could apply for it on their next upgrade, but they should start just not charging those 10 bucks :(
If they stop charging $10, what should they do about insurance. Don't forget jump includes insurance. Should all those people get free insurance?

I think letting people do change on their next upgrade makes the most sense. Not to mention the terms are different and many are paying a lot more for their phones monthly and on the end can on it if they want. It would make no sense to allow those on older JUMP programs to get it for free.

I had forgotten about the 8-dollar insurance fee. Nope, I agree, we shouldn't get insurance free. Wait... YES! WE SHOULD! Mr. Legere, please add this for the next Uncarrier? hehehe

How much would this cost if I'm not a current jump subscriber and I already paid more than half of my payments on my phone?

You have to wait until your next upgrade. If you choose to do it, there is no cost.

As long as you're well qualified (0 down eligible), then she can opt to do the program next upgrade.

If you have jump one don't go to the new jump it's not worth it and Insurance is not included in the price i went to T-Mobile store today and talk with them in detail

Why not just purchase the stand alone insurance for $8/M... You get insurance and an extra jump while saving $2/m? Do they not offer insurance with the new JUMP?

New insurance does not come with jump plus the jump one is better because its based on a 24 month lease versus a 18 month lease so for a phone like iphone 6 plus that cost 30 dollars to lease would add an additional 180 dollars since youre in essence trimming the plan by 6 months

JUMP 1 is not a lease, it's an interest free financing. If you finish the 24 months without jumping the phone is yours because it's paid off. Jump on demand after 18 months you have to return the phone or pay to keep the phone.

Uh....I think you're mixed up. If you're paying 24 months vs 18 months it'll end up being the same price. Sure you need to pay $180 for your final payment instead of the last 6 months....But do you not have $180? In the end it'll be the exact same price to OWN the device. The difference is you're saving $10 a month by not having insurance. Assuming you are willing to risk that.

Plus the iPhone 6+ is on a sale for $12 off a month making it an over $200 savings.

From my understanding jump on demand and jump 1 have the same monthly fee. JoD just requires you to either pay the last 25% at 18 months or return the phone whereas J1 you can continue making payments up to 24 months when the phone is paid off
