Just a thought...

AAh, thats :(

I was hoping it did multitasking all the time, I do alot of it.

The adds that 'need' to run in the background too. For example, if you have Meebo running and connected to FB chat / AIM, you will receive messages as they are sent to you even if you are doing something else, like browsing a web page.

As another poster stated, it is up to the application developer to determine if it will continue running in the background or not. Chat clients (like I stated above, Meebo) will continue to run in the background. Other applications may choose to simply pause when you aren't using them, as to save battery.

Is there a list that tells if the apps runs of pauses in the background?

Do you have a Droid? If so, why not try it out yourself?

No, I do not have one, and the one that I tried at the store was broken :(

What types of things are you worried about running in the background? You can receive chat notifications, stream music (Pandora/Slacker), and browse the web simultaneously. Not sure what else you are looking for.

I don't believe any of this until Luke Wilson tells me its true. ;)

Lol.

As mentioned above, If you have wifi, you can pretty much do whatever you want while on the phone. This whole att being on the phone and emailing is just silly. While I can see it being nice if you are on a bluetooth headset, talking wall street and you need to email those proposals right away, but really? Then you just tell the person you are on the phone with that you will call them back in 1 minute while you email them or do whatever you have to do...

luke wilson is blowing the small things out of proportion, and why does he have nothing better to do than hang out in diners watching people use their phones?
