Just got my Galaxy S3, need advice!

I'm wondering whether your problems couldn't be due to a conflict among apps. How many have you installed. My GS3 runs fine, but my GS2 used to get terrifically hot. I discovered the contributing factors were: (1) not enough air circulation when it was in the case, but only when it was already getting warm from the next 2 factors; (2) using Wi-Fi on Froyo and Gingerbread--problem went away on ICS; (3) 3rd-party app conflict. The app factor was the most difficult to figure out. It was never something obvious, such as two games conflicting. It was always something unexpected, such as a game conflicting with the calendar app.

So, there may be solutions for your problems, but it won't be easy to troubleshoot them.

how hot are we talkin though? androids do get hot when say downloading a large file or stream or play games especialy while plugged in.
op should get an app/widget that measures battery temp.
my overclocked zte blade used to hit over 50?c without problems (other than sweaty hands lol) :)

global s3, UK. Ask me anything and ill reply even if its just an intelligent (or crazy) guess ;)

That's the thing, I also assumed it was an app confliction but I had wiped all the data using the recovery mode and just re-tried like running Temple Run, and it still froze once or twice.

I've been also using WiFi foe like 90% as I've been home for a while. Would that account for the problems?

It gets like warmish-hot, especially towards the bottom. Especially when playing Temple Run, like it just freezes randomly and then I'd have to go to home, and close it and relaunch it.

Oh! I also watch Naruto Shippuuden right, so I downloaded the latest episode, EP280 and its 720p (I've seen people playing 1080p of the Sam series easily) and it'd play fine then suddenly like 5-10mins in, it'd freeze. I use MX Player and tried others and same thing.

I just generally thing it's a faulty device.

Make sure that Power Saving mode is not active, that is probably what is making your S3 lag.
