Just got the 4.4.2 update

Hope it comes for Tmobile soon. Honestly one of the first things I noticed coming from my Note 2 is the camera is considerably worse. After a little research I was happy to find the update corrected that and the other issue with the super quiet speakers. Seriously, I couldn't watch netflix close to my heat vent they are that quiet.

Next would be if they added a number counter on the icon for unread emails (switching text apps switched that part).

I finally got it! :-)

Would someone with the update mind checking the camera when switched to video? I was experiencing much darker video versus how a picture looked after the 4.4.1 update.

I did a quick video... seems pretty sharp to me. I didn't do a video when it was 4.4.1 so I can't compare.

JUST GOT 4.4.2, Camera is way quicker, vibrations on keys on keyboard is a bit more pronounced, AUDIO IS AMAZINGLY LOUD, on headphones AND on speakers, sounds like twice as loud, maybe a bit more!!!, Also performance when switching from app to app is a bit faster, I was already running ART, so its amazing it got just a bit quicker, REALLY HAPPY WHEN I SAW 4.4.2, DIDNT EVEN GET 4.4.1 HAHA!

SHOUT OUT TO THE GOOG, MAKING MY LIFE BETTER MAN! Was just about to buy some Monster Inspiration Headphones, but they sounded flat, then I got this update.... HELLO INSPIRATIONS!

Rather than **** and moan, I thought I might try my hand at sideloading 4.4.1 & 4.4.2

Everything seems to be working as advertised.

less than week old 32gb got 4.4.1 immediately and 4.4.2 today. meanwhile.. the 16gb one hasnt gotten anything..

My Build number says "KRT16M"...I haven't seen anyone else with this build number. I don't remember getting even one OTA update for the Nexus 5 yet.
Can anyone confirm that KRT16M is the build number that shipped with the phone originally? I'm starting to wonder if the fact that I can't use the hotword detection anymore even though Eng is my default and the setting is checked, and the fact that I still have not received even one OTA even though I've been on wifi, are somehow connected?

That's my build number. Are you on Sprint? I have not received ONE OTA update as well

I'm actually using it on AT&T.
I guess we can use this as good news though, as it most likely means we just have to keep waiting. I know all about being patient with Nexus phone updates since I had the Galaxy Nexus for almost 2 years and sat through many of them, but I've never been in this situation where I haven't gotten the update within the first couple of days of being announced on all the blogs, and now for them to be pushing a second one and I haven't received that one yet, and I was the only one that I knew of having build KRT16M, I started to worry a bit lol.

Just out of curiosity, does your hotword detection work, though? "Okay Google"? Mine won't even though the setting is checked and Eng is set as my language. Might be better for a different thread, but, while I have you...

I also received the OTA for 4.4.2 on my N5 on MPCS, bypassing 4.4.1. By far best improvement would have to be increased volume on all plat forms.
I also noticed drastic improvements in the camera app

It should be under settings>language>voice search then just tick the hotword detection box. Maybe it needs to be US English for it to work. Mine works fine with those settings
