Just got the 4.4.2 update

I have the same build (KRT16M) and I am on T-Mobile and never received an OTA as of yet for either 4.4.1 or 4.4.2. Hopefully it comes tomorrow sometime...

Guys, I've N4 with 4.4 and GEL loaded and everything is working absolutely fine. I just got the 4.4.2 OTA and want to check with folks here if there would be any problem if I go ahead with the update when I've loaded the GEL separately. Any advice is appreciated... thanks in advance!

It shouldn't really affect apks at all. But wouldn't this question be more suited for the Nexus 4 forum?

Oops... my bad! Sorry I didn't realize that it was not in the Nexus 4 forum. Thanks for the information...

I just bought two new Nexus 5's 16gb off of amazon for 29.99 with 2 year sprint contract. My wife and I were Apple and blackberry before since mobile phones originated. I have recently been using mostly google apps for work. It took me 2 days and some patience with Sprint and learning about the green dude, but its exactly how I would want my smart phone. We received 4.4.1 and 4.4.2 with absolutely no issues. I like the sprint update with voice.

Updated directly to 4.4.2 tonight, all seems good except I cannot turn GPS off with the power widget, only if I go into settings and turn it off manually. Minor headache....

The WiFi bug where the phone would disconnect from my very strong WiFi connection for a few seconds and then reconnect seems to have disappeared...again. I fixed it with the original software by disabling 'Avoid Poor Connections'. When I updated to 4.4.1 it would still disconnect even with the setting disabled. Think its fixed now with 4.4.2. I hope.

Now that it has mentioned I have thought the notification sounds were a bit louder. I still have the stock Hangouts notification which I thought was a bit hard to hear on the original software. It got much better with the 4.4.1 update but the 4.4.2 update seems to have made it even louder. I can hear clearly at 3/4 volume in a crowded restaurant.

Also between the 4.4.1 and 4.4.2 updates I no longer disconnect from LTE in my area.

Kudos to Google for being so on top of bugs! Keep the updates coming! :p

Okay good to know. Just got it on my Nexus 7 (new version) this morning. Hopefully won't be long for the N5.

You guys must be one-percenters or something. I haven't gotten either OTA update. I'll probably just go ahead and sideload when I got home tonight if I don't get it during the day.

I rooted my N5 as soon as I got it. Will I still get the updates OTA? And if I do, will they break root? Because, if the update is going to unroot me, I may as well stop waiting for the OTA. I'll just download 4.4.2, install, and re-root. But I'm still hoping you'll all say OTA will work and not lose root. Don't like getting my hands dirty! ;)

Double-check that. With the power widget, when you click the locator icon half of it turns dark gray. After clicking it, go to the manual settings and you'll see that the locator services was set into Battery Saving mode, which disabled the GPS.

Yeah like I said, got those two settings set, still nothing. My mic is hollow. Oh well, thanks for checking :-) hope we get our 4.4.2 love soon.

try turning off accessibility

settings>accessibily turn off talkback

if you use any smart watch like pebble turn that off

Mine hit when I got home from work today..... As soon as it latched onto WiFi it prompted me for the 4.4.2 update... I've played around with the camera and took some pictures and it does not seem all that much snappier (if at all) than before the update... Be interesting to see what the battery life is like tomorrow..... Toy around with it a little as the night plugs along and see if works better...

i have yet to receive a 4.4.2. Didn't even get the 4.4.1 although i knew there was some bugs. Atleast it will get to us faster than all other phones. Else we can sideload which I never done but maybe if im impatient :)

Well since you asked here, the answer is go ahead. You will not have any problems. I side loaded 4.4.1 and later 4.4.2 on to my N4 with GEL and it all works well. As well as 4.4.1 and 4.4.2 on my N5.

I got 4.4.2 OTA on my Nexus 7 (2012) Mobile tablet at about 6:00 PM EST today. My Nexus 5 and my wife's Nexus 4 still haven't gotten the update though. In fact, none of my 3 Nexus devices ever did get 4.4.1. FWIW, I'm located in PA, not too far from Philadelphia.
