And I'm not overly impressed, I hyped my girlfriend up to see it also who has a iPhone we both thought it was overall Ok...these forums drooling over the build quality the feel of the device but it didn't blow me away or enough to make me stray away from the s4 even tho I never seen s4 in person ...im not trolling or being bias towards HTC, zoey features are impressive and camera quality, screen is best I've seem so far.. I didn't test the speakers, phone had zero lag snapdragon is no joke, overall great phone but the hype of build using metal was a let down..

I think it's pretty sweet myself, and I've had just about every top end device built in the last 3 years.

It may not be the phone for you then. Other may like it to. Its always a matter of preference and everyones got their own.

Lol with the hype of build quality and feel it doesn't blow me away like all these ppl on this site say, everyone entitled to thru own opinion but it look average, maybe because it was floor model

Its all relative. For some they are thinking about it compared to what we've seen so far and others are just taking it a face value and the opinion is based on that. I am viewing from the former compared to android devices. I've had every iPhone so compared to them it's probably won't blow a person away. But compared to all the plastic stuff we typically get with android devices, including other HTC devices, its just nice to see something totally different.

How does it feel compared to an iPhone 5? I think a lot of buzz surrounding this phone is that it's the first android handset that's made out anything other than plastic or a material like it, kind of has a novelty feature to it if you will. I'd imagine it'd feel just like an iPhone 5 but a tad more heavier and more rounded in the back. While the iPhone is stupid light, my Note 2 feels more "premium" than it. Going from the iPhone to the Note 2, the iPhone just felt like a toddler's toy.

EDIT: Nvm, already discussed.

I went to my local AT&T store this morning and held the One. The build quality was excellent, and this is coming from an iPhone 5 user. Unfortunately, the store had internet access blocked, so I couldn't test very much. I actually forgot to try out the speakers. Scrolling and other transitions were very smooth, however. I'll probably go and visit it again tomorrow morning...:D

I got it yesterday, and the build quality is amazing. The screen and the speakers are also awesome. Definitely the best build quality of any Android phone I've used.

I went into my local AT&T yesterday and saw it. I absolutely wanted to cut the security cable and run out of the store with it! I though it was amazing! I'm going to have a tough decision on my upgrade day (May 1).

Lol, luv when people start threads just to poopoo stuff like this.

Have nothing better to do?

Its the best android build so far, but to me just wasn't blown away, but I can see a consumer who have never ever heard of the phone being blown away, maybe because its been so hyped up to me on here...

Just saying, good or bad there are threads to add your opinion to anyway. Some will love it, others will hate it. Same goes for the s4. Everyone phone is not for everyone but I just always get a laugh out of threads where someone just has to go all negative.

How can you judge build quality by simply holding it?

You have to own it for a while to accurately assess build quality.

Speaker grills are merely glued on, the charging port may not be soldered on properly (if HTC'S history proves any indicator it's a possibility), camera may stop working, can't judge all of that by merely holding a device.

Okay, then - perceived build quality. Jeesh. :D

You also can't tell if all those cataclysmic things are going to happen to it by owning it for a while. It may take longer. :p

Went to my local corporate store. They have a display with 3 working models. Sent about 15 minutes playing, they would not sell any.

Pros:
1. FAST, as in OMG fast. Took me by surprise. Everything from opening apps to browsing was faster by leaps and bounds over my S3.
2. Lighter than I expected. No rough edges or panel gaps as many have reported.
3. Camera speed. Couldn't take the phone outside it the indoor shots were decent .
4. Display is gorgeous.

Cons:
1. Boom sound, not that it's an important feature to me, was nothing all that great. There was maybe a dozen people in the store and at max volume I could barely hear it. What I was able to hear just sounded like a cell phone with 2 speakers.

2. Lighter than I expected.

3. Display seems smallish with the dreaded black bar which was persistent in many apps.

4. Gallery seems like a disorganized mess.

5. Switchgear is terrible. I know it was a conscious decision by HTC to make all the buttons flush but it's impossible to operate the volume or power buttons by feel.

I will likely test drive One when the S4 release date is announced. I can still be persuaded but the S4 offers more pizazz with little compromise.
