Just held the HTC one in the store

Wireless charging was a slight concern for me as well. I currently have the nexus 4 and bought two of Google's charging orb (1 for office and 1 for home). It really doesn't bother me too much, but I just assumed that new phones would all start implementing this technology - Another reason why I stocked up on these fairly expense chargers. On a side note, wireless charging does make all of the iPhone-aholics shed a little tear when they see the nexus floating on the orb. ha

Well I finally got around to messing with one in store. Screen really is beautiful, as is the whole device. One of the reps and I were talking about it the whole time. He is upgrading to it on Friday also. I played some deadmau5 over YouTube (terrible audio quality) and it sounded pretty good, and definitely the best for any phone I've had. I'm an audiophile so it really takes a bit to make me say something sounds good. From what little I used the speakers they are very surprisingly well balanced. The lows actually have a little heft and the highs don't seem to have the typical smartphone squeel/over power. The range of the speakers is MUCH better than I expected out of a membrane that small. I played deadmau5 to test one thing; the speakers ability to not lose its range under heavy bass. The highs don't get overridden by loud bass notes like they do on all my other phones (well not nearly as much at least). Very surprising out of speakers that small. Color me impressed, though I'm sure I'll stick to my HPM 100s for home audio ;p

It is the developers fault. Period.

Also, go brush up on your android design guidelines. The overflow button was designed specifically to not take up any more space.

I don't need to brush up on an android guideline, or brush my teeth, or wipe my rear end to see that you didn't prove me wrong once again.

Is it the developers fault? Yes. But it is not so simple.

In apps that use an action overflow it is not hidden in reality or should I call it a menu button, and for some, this could be an issue if it places it on screen in an app like say navigation. When driving, it will be on the screen just like the black bar. It will not be invisible as a driver may need to access and use it.

Lol yeah they are old. I'm still poor :p But yeah they have great quality. When it comes to speakers to a degree size is the only real difference over the last 20 years. There are 40 year old speakers that with a refoam job will blow away anything new. And of course Bose suck. They are the apple of the speaker world. Great marketing. ****ty drivers. Anyway. Like I said I surprised on the dynamic range with such a small membrane. Of course any dedicated speaker (jawbone and such) will win out but I was impressed

The ability to charge without plugging in the micro USB cable. It charges by placing it on a charging mat.

what's the point of having it if you still have to put it on the mat to charge unless, the mat is like WiFi and can charge your device from anywhere in the house ?

Because its cool. That's honestly the only reason

I don't know, it is not a big desire for me. I suppose it eliminates the USB cables and is more convenient - just come in and drop it on the mat.

Yet you still can't prove me wrong.
You tried doing this before with me saying the DNA isn't a butterfly...yet even after others also chimed in, you still think the DNA is a one x. Dude, just give up already. You're nothing but being a troll by now.

Just toyed with the one at the ATT store....second time in 5 days. Not sure if it was sensor overload, or grandiose expection from all the reviews, but while I did walk away excited about the phone, I have to admit I was still "afraid" (hey I'm comig from 5 straight years of different reiterations of the iphone). I think I just needed to get over the hype. All I can say is that I'm very happy that I'm making the change.....in a calm serene type of way after my session with the phone again today. The screen is very nice, I really like the expansiveness of it. And I caught myself stroking the chassis and smirking a little, the phone really does feel great, I really appreciate the design. Couldn't really understand how to do the Zoe's but I'm sure once I get the phone I'll get the hang of it. But overall, very happy.

BTW I'm upgrading from the Iphone 4 and not once did it occur to me to go over and compare IP5 to the One. This device has a way of making you forget about all of the others.....just not interested. I have a feeling the more time I spend with this phone the more I'm going to enjoy using it.

I like to use my phone whilst it's charging.....

You can still use it on such a charger.
Yet one of the advantages of removable batteries is that your phone does not ever have to be on a charger...just do a battery swap instead.

Based on my reading of this thread and the black bar discussion, your understanding is a little off. Apps that comply with ICS style guides won't have the black bar, and the action overflow will be in an area that's already being used by the app for UI purposes. There are special cases of course, like games, but when done right the action overflow (otherwise known as "three dots") won't take up any extra screen real estate.

I guess that's a matter of perspective.

I concur.

But you guys don't need to rub it in.

And to those wondering, yes, this same exact conversation happened last year when the One X was announced/released. I was there for that one, too. LOL

Not easily. Especially if your battery is critically low.

I second this.....what is inductive charging???

Wireless charging. The One won't do it due to the metal body. Everything I've seen about this phone is absolutely awesome - except for this one thing. For me, it may be a deal breaker.
