Well at least you are still here, answering questions and have not disappeared. That give me a little hope. Thanks for the info.
Just called telesales. Guy said end of the month. Like after Black Friday, which is idiotic if true. I understand the source and its general inability to be credible. Makes little sense business wise. "Let's wait until AFTER the biggest shopping day in a bad economy." Does makes sense for the device to be released after the Google press release today. I watched and it was very good. If you've already been using Google Music it was not that informative but the entire operation will change the music industry. Back to topic: I hope what I heard wasn't true, but a release date would probably curtail the angst.
the source over on phandroid forums on the ridiculously long thread is reporting before black friday with a high probability of monday...cross your fingers!
Would be nice. I guess Thursday releases with Verizon is a thing in the past huh?
I know they want to sell it. Selling phones means selling activations. Waiting too long limits the number of phones sold and activations sold in the quarter. I'm sure they know what they're doing operationally, but Verizon has a massive chance to add new subscribers from other carriers with this phone. That is the name of the game. I'm sure that is why they're offering better data plans for the holidays. I simply say the sooner the better for all parties involved.

I will take an announcement with a date. If the date is 2 weeks from now, so be it. I just want a freakin' date!!!!!!!
Well, we will know tomorrow and, if it doesn't happen it will be another rumored day passed by. I have to work Friday so, it won't matter to me if it comes out then (unless I can order online). Then Monday will be here and, it will be another rumored day.
I have to say though, I thought we would know something by now.
I know. I was just taking a shot at those who keep saying Verizon doesn't care about the device.
Fact is, they ordered 120,400 units. They aren't going to spend $24,080,000 on devices they do not care about. That figure is only if each unit costs them $200 btw. I am sure its more.
You are forgetting one thing, however....
It's not just that VZW makes more per Razr/Rezound sold via the bloat apps (wouldn't be suprised if its as much as an extra $1 per activated unit, PER bloat app)... It's the fact that they LOSE MONEY on phones that don't sell. Google trends put the GNex at roughly double the search rate of both the Razr/rezound combined on the week that both the Razr/Rezound launched.....
I'd wager VZW is less worried about having 1,000,000 Gnexus stuck in storage for a few weeks, than having 500,000 each of Razrs/Rezounds that will NEVER get sold, especially if they completely misjudged the demand for both phones as compared to the Nexus (which imo is a safe bet) and agreed to buy way more than they would have with current market data.
It also lends credibility to the idea that VZW will release the phone after Black Friday, because again it's not that they want to sit on a G-Nex stockpile, it's that they DON'T want to sit on a Rezound/Razr stockpile.
That's their fault for not knowing their customers.
In hindsight, we were all saying the same thing in February about the Bolt, but the reality is that they're till a business. The GNex WILL sell. Honestly, probably just as well anytime (within the reasonable future) as it would if it launched tomorrow. So VZ is taking advantage of that in order to move other products.
They know their customers TOO well, imo. They know you'll be in that store for the GNex the day if comes out, even if it's 4 AM on Christmas Eve and you have to ski to the store. Exaggeration are fun, but you get the point, I hope.
