Just play with iPhone 6&6+ ..happy now..My G3 is better..

I love the fingerprint scanner on the S5
I'm not too concerned about security, but I like it so people can't randomly walk up and get on my phone
Yes, it can be hacked. But the normal person is not going to go through all the trouble to get it to turn on. They are going to find a phone that is swipe to unlock, as it is much easier to break in to.
I also like how I can do it with people watching, and it's not like a password where they watch my type it in, they can't see my fingerprint

Macworld just compared the iPhone6 to the LG G3. Guess which they chose?

They said the LG G3, all things considered, is simply the best smartphone you can buy today, and handily beat out the iPhone 6.

But that's Macworld - they're heavily biased against apple, right?

Wow...I had to see it to believe it.

the LG G3 is the best handset on the market right now. It matches or bests the iPhone 6 in all quantifiable metrics.

Re: Just play with Iphone 6&6+ ..happy now..My G3 is better..

I went into the Apple store the other day to do an actual side by side comparison of my S5 to both new iPhones to see if I truly was happy with my switch, and while I feel the phones are fast and snappy, I'm getting more and more used to Android and feel I made a good choice. I'm sure the snappiness of the new iPhone would go away within a few months with all my music and photos and typical usage.
I was coming from a jailbroken ios device, which I honestly really enjoyed. Custom animation speeds, icon grids, and dozens of other UI elements. But I decided to go ahead and update my old iPhone 5 to iOS 8 Monday and, well, wow it's slow as hell. Reinforces my decision to switch that much more.

Have you really owned an iPhone? If you did, you would know it doesn't slow down after a few months in stock form like Android devices do which can be avoided with periodic maintenance. If your device was jailbroken with lots of tweaks, don't blame the phone for not performing like it should.

As a matter of fact, yes. I've owned 4 different generations of iPhones. Maybe I worded my post wrong, but I was trying to say that ios 8 in its stock form was actually slower on my iPhone 5 than iOS 7 was jailbroken on it. I was able to set truly custom animation speeds down to the decimal point or all together if I desired, disable that annoying parralax effect which I have no idea why they ever added, had a device cleaner just as I am able to download in stock Android OS, an app that gave me full read and write access to the file system on my phone and dozens of other UI tweaks to improve the interface itself. The stock animation speeds of iOS 8, at least in the iPhone 5, are pretty slow IMO and really no better than 7 was, even though they were said to be improved. On the new models in store it's much faster, but still it's a stock and boring OS. I outgrew It and it was time for a change. So in short- my device performed MUCH better jailbroken than it did stock for all the reasons I listed above. JB's have come a very long way from the early stages and are actually quite safe and secure, at least in my experience. Although I didn't do a whole hell of a lot of changing the file system unless there was a direct link that added it via iFile (the read /write access program ) or if there was thorough instructions on what and how to change it.

But I digress since this isn't a thread to discuss JB tweaks for iOS. I was going to keep my phone for a while but I'd been in the Android fence for about a year and the more I played with the S5 the more I liked it. I've only had it for two weeks now but already I am liking it a lot more than even my jailbroken devices in the past. I spent a good amount of time with both devices before deciding on the S5. The iPhone 6 felt like nothing more than my phone with stock iOS on a larger screen, and the 6+ Is a great phone but just wasn't for me either. So Android it was, and the S5 I chose.
I've already been religious about cleaning junk files and caches, running anti virus, deleting unnecessary apps/files etc to keep the device in check. Is it all going to keep it up to speed over the months ahead? Hopefully, but who knows how much for sure. I don't load my device with memory heavy apps that serve me no purpose, it's mostly for messaging and photos and internet browsing, things of that sort. I use it a lot, but that's the point of buying a powerful phone. :)

Leave your opinion a few month later, i am sure you will have a different point of view next time.

Re: Just play with Iphone 6&6+ ..happy now..My G3 is better..

Honestly when the iPhone 6 launched I got really excited about it and basically got swept into Apple's marketing and that dazzle that Apple always has when they launch new devices. Now I just don't have those feelings anymore and I have no interest in getting an iPhone 6. My Mother has one and I've felt it in the hand before and it feels really awkward to hold in comparison to my 2013 Moto X. It just didn't feel any bit as comfortable in my hand as the Moto X did, and nothing about the phone excited me that much in comparison to using Android.

I think it's good on Apple that they can sell a device like that so well, but to me the phone feels worse off than my 2013 Moto X which kind of feels like a shame since the Moto X sold so badly in comparison.

I can tell just by what you wrote here that you will be just fine with Android because you are a tinkerer. You belong and are welcomed here on the Android side of things! :)

Just went back from my local AT&T..play with new iPhone 6 and have to say nothing better than my g3.. Iphone display is good but even 6+ 1080p is still far behind g3 display..almost same weight with g3..and very huge bezel on Iphone...overall happy now ...stay with my G3..:)

So you were able to tell the difference between a 1080p screen and 1440p screen? I wish I had your eyes!!!

I don't think my opinion will change. I also didn't mention I went through 13 (yes, 13) iPhones in my 5 years of iOS loyalty. Other than upgrades, the rest were either firmware or physical issues with each phone whether it was new from box or a refurb and it was ALWAYS a different issue with each and every phone. So obviously Apple has it's share of issues too.

This is exactly how I felt. I honestly felt this way when the 5 was released over two years ago, but the S3 wasn't for me and I stuck to Apple. They load the camera rolls with load of edited DSLR images and the screen makes them look stunning, but the camera itself while still really good isn't going to take such high quality snaps. I first realized this when I got my 5, and that's when I realized the resolution and PPI were literally no different than my 4, but it had a slightly higher count due to the larger screen length.
Physically the 6 just doesn't do it for me. I think the 6+ looks a bit better IMO only because it's thicker and the edges seem to flow better than the standard 6. All are great in their own way, just depends in what the users wants obviously.

Thanks ! And I love to tinker, always have. :D

I do agree that G3 is much better smartphone than iPhone 6...however, the title of this threat made me laugh really loud :D
