Just received the newer version of Seidio Innocase II, seems more rubberized inside

Seidio is working on various colors for Active. It should be available 1-2 weeks from now. The matching holster should also be available

Thanks

Seidio

Hi...do you already have a date as to when the horizontal leather case will be available for the Evo with Innocase 2? I wanted to order the combo package that you offer on your side, but since the case is not yet ready, I am going to have to order the leather case separately and miss out on the discounted price. :( Is it going to be a few more weeks, or a few more days? Any idea? I hate this stupid generic Body Glove leather case that I am using right now!

Thanks

To my understanding the Seido Innocase is pretty much identical to the Best Buy Platinum case (BB case has paperwork in the package that references Seido). Can someone confirm if this is correct? If they're the same case, I wonder if BB will be getting the updated case for me to exchange.

The BB Platinum case has some felt on the back/flat parts but hard plastic that touches the corners of the EVO, but I think I might want to pick up the new version of the official Seido case since it's not plastic on plastic in the corners.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. If our cases do become creaky/loose, will we have to return them to best buy in hopes we dont have them exchanged for the same product that's bound to have the same issues or can we just get the guaranteed new version through Seidio?

Cant wait to get mine that I have on order. They better send me the new version.

I bought 5 evos for the family and converted a few friends to the evo. So, I have a lot of experience with the popular cases for our phones.

1. HTC Silicon case - Very nice fit and pretty solid protection. Definitely not recommended for guys because you will never get this out of your pocket. However, for girls with purses, this is a solid option.

2. Active Case by Seidio - Perfect fit and better protection then the silicon case and innocase. It feels solid in your hand during use and you almost feel like you can drop it and it will be fine. However, it does add about the same amount of bulk as the silicon case and it does pull out your pant pocket lining about half of the time. As a guy, this frustrates me but it is inevitable since the sides of the case are silicon rubber.

3. Platinum-Seidio Gen 1 innocase - nice feel and keeps the phone true to its naked size. Doest give you as solid feel as the other two cases while in use but it comes in and out of the pocket easily.

Not every case will be perfect for everyone. I think you just need to weigh the pros and cons and decide what works for you.

My 2 cents. Cheers.

Finally! I've been obsessing about which case to go with because of the pants-pocket question. I remember I tried a jelly case once with an iPhone, it was like glue in my pocket. I really only want a case to get the camera lens off the desk, and it seems like this new Innocase revision is the best option now. Glad to hear the finish is pocketable! Thanks for the rundown. :)

seidioseidio,

your pm box is full and I can't send a reply to you

thanks

So I went for it an ordered a Seidio Innocase II from the Seidio site. I hope the shipping isn?t as bad as Amazon?s. I went to purchase the case from them and the shipping would have taken 3-4 weeks!

The BB Platinum case is made by seidio...just private labeled for BB.

Seidio has stated the following in this very thread:

"Regardless of where you purchased your case, you are still covered under our warranty. If you have an issue with your case, please feel free to PM us and we will be more happy to see what we can do for you!"

What is stated above is TRUE. I bought the Platinum case/holster combo on EVO Launch day from Best Buy. I contacted Seidio about the looseness of the case and they shipped me out a new version of the case and I received it yesterday. My new case is a Seidio branded case though. They didn't have any revised Platinum branded cases available yet. No big deal to me what brand name is on my case, as long as it protects my EVO as it's supposed to!

I had the Innocase for my Palm Pre and had to get multiple replacements because of the "tabs" breaking(not really Seidio's fault, since the design of the Pre leaves for very limited ways to attach a case to it). Seidio makes a great product and their customer service staff has ALWAYS been willing to work with you if you have issues.

Did they send you out a case first, or did you have to send in your case before they sent you out a new one?

Seidio has always sent the replacement case 1st and with it a return label and package for you to send the broken one back.

When I had a problem, Seidio refused to help saying I had to have the place were it was purchased handle the return/ exchange. This was right before I got my Incredible and was still on the BB, but I was ticked that they said that they don't handle warranty replacements. Also, I never had one sent BEFORE I sent mine back.

I am going to have to see about this. My wife and I both have one and I was lookign to ditch mine becasue the squeek is really annoying.

I'd be willing to bet Seidio will work with any of ya'll on your old Innocases. They really do have great customer service if you PM them from the forum they will work with you here. I'd also be willing to bet that they can just reprocess those old ones and it's not a big deal for them at all to replace your old ones.

I am eagerly awaiting my new Innocase to arrive along with my car charger

Sorry that happened to you, but Seidio has ALWAYS sent my replacements before requiring me to send the defective one back, AND they included a prepaid return shipping label.

It's always been hassle free for me.

I can confirm they do this. I contacted them via their webchat and they are sending out the new cases and labels to send back the existing ones.

yep they always tell me nope to deal with amazon...so then I have to send it back before the replacement.

She was a bit rude, but it was ok.

Lilely cdaniel76 ordered direct from them. This is what I did as the case was only available from them direct at the time. I can see their point to an extent. Amazon buys from them at a discount. If Amazon replaces it it comes from their stock. Items already purchased. If they replace it directly they lose money becasue that is an item they are not selling for full price.

Same reason that Sprint requires you to go back to point of sale within the first 30 days.

how about the issues with collecting lint and dust where the case and phone meet? is that also solved with the revised case? I was thinking of getting the active case instead, but I like the thinness of the innocase (maybe get the rugged so I can have extra protection if I need it.)

I had a defective Rose Pink one that I bought for my wife. It had the worst play and squeak I have ever seen for any case. Anyways, long story short, Seidio was quick to reply and send out a replacement. I am hoping it gets here today or tomorrow. I really wish they would have forwarded on a tracking number though to be honest as I can only go by their word it was shipped, but other then that, great customer service.

In regards to the lint and dust issue above, the Black case I got initially was one of the revised ones and after only having the case on it for 4 days, I took it off and phone was filthy. Mind you I cleaned the case and phone off completely before assembling and it has only been in my pocket or charging on my desk. I just popped it off today and it was very dirty once again. And not just lint or just but grit that will scratch up the phone. Not very happy about this.

Also I have noticed after only removing the case twice as specified in the directions the clasp that locks the top and bottom together isn't staying very tight anymore and the pieces come apart with very little effort.

Paying $60 plus S&H is a lot for two cases and there shouldn't be these types of issues with them. Ultimately I will make my decision to keep them or return them once her new one comes in. To sum things up on Seidio; superb customer service, overpriced quality lacking products. That's just my two cents.

I bought all my cases for my Pre directly thru their website, but my EVO case was their Platinum branded case that I bought from BestBuy on EVO launch day. (same exact as the Innocase, just had Best Buy's store brand name on it).

I was wondering if they are gonna make a rugged case for use with extended batteries like they offered for the bb tour.
