K9 Mail Push problem?

[Android Central Question]

I'm on a 8.0 LG G6 (H873 - Canadian variant) and for whatever reason, this is the first Android phone where K9 Mail doesn't work properly for pushing my IMAP email. Polling seems to work fine but I prefer push.
Does this just not work on 8.0? I see people complaining about it but no solutions.

Welcome to Android Central! Any power-saving modes turned on, or Restrict Background Data? See what happens if you turn off Battery Optimization for that app.

Yeah, I've tried that. Doesn't help unfortunately.

I'll have to wait more hours to see, but it would appear that K9 and Hangouts both needed their cache and data cleared and seem to be working.
Strange.
