I use K9 Mail to get my email on my Nexus. On my PC I have Windows Live Mail and it is configured to delete email from the server once they have been downloaded to Windows Live Mail. Most of the time I read my emails from my PC first so they should be deleted on the server. But K9 gets them anyway, even if I have read them first on the PC. Does anyone know what I need to do so that downloaded and read emails on my PC do not duplicate themselves in K9? In K9 I have the poll frequency set to every 3 hours but I am changing it to 6 hrs if that makes any difference.

Hello

The way things are setup is once the messages are synced (polled) to your device they stay there. But if you read the message and delete it from your computer which in turn is setup to delete it from the server it should remove itself from your device AFTER you select " Check Mail " on your device. Basically once you select Check Mail it should update your retrieved email (25,50,100,etc count) total to reflect whatever is on the server, so if you deleted something from PC it should then remove itself from your device.

I did test this out just to be sure and it works for me. I polled my email ( Comcast ) to my device, then deleted an email from the same polled list on my PC side, when back to my device and selected CHECK MAIL and the email I deleted then was removed from the list.

So if all that makes sense, bottom line you have to make sure you CHECK MAIL again after you read/delete from computer so its updated on your device end.

I tried k-9 as well as nearly all other available email apps when I first got my gnexus and the one I settled with is aquamail... You might want to check it out :-) mine syncs read/unread/deleted/sent etc and best of all you can set it to have 1,000's of emails on the page without having to wait for them to load the next 25
