Any SF guys running K9 mail? I loaded this up and really like it. It allows me to combine gmail and yahoo with a lot more customization. My only issue appears to be that my battery appears to be draining faster. Before I had the stock email pulling yahoo every 5 minutes. Gmail was pushed. I setup k9 the same way and turned off all notifications and polling for for yahoo and gmail separately.

I thought about trying maildroid to compare but k9 allows custom vibration settings which I use to differentiate work and personal emails while at work.

Thoughts?

i've been using it for a couple days, mostly for the C&P ability, and partly because i like to change things up every so often :p

Let me know how your battery life is. Originally, I had it set up to poll gmail and yahoo every minute. This killed the battery FAST. Knowing that for Gmail polling can be off and changing yahoo to poll every 5 minutes helped. There are a lot of settings that I am not really sure about though. I might just try maildroid for the hell of it.

I've tried both K9 and MailDroid. Overall, I'm happier with K9 at the moment. The major issue I had with MailDroid is that links in emails usually didn't work. When I tapped a link, it just put an orange box around the link, but it didn't follow it. I have polling set to 30 minutes in K9 and it seems to be working quite well. The notifications are also working with NoLED.

I tried K9 twice on my fascinate and went back to the stock mail app both times. I just couldn't quite get it setup correctly. It had problems sending mail and it never seemed to recive mail as fast as the stock mail app. I know other people really like it though, it just didn't seem to work for me. I did not notice my battery draining any faster.

This is my email app of choice as well.

One thing that irritates me tho is that HTML emails do not fit the screen. I have to pinch zoom in to see it all. It should start out fit-to-screen and you can zoom in as needed...

This is how it was on the iphone. It worked out good for me and I miss it...

Think I'll go write to the developer now

No one has noticed a quicker battery after moving from stock e-mail to K9?

my battery seems to be doing the same, took it off the charger at about 10am, it's 3:13am now and my battery is at 44%

I've used k9 mail from day 1, so I can't comment on the battery life. But as far as I'm concerned it's the preferred Android Email Client.

my wife uses K9 and pulls her yahoo account, but the unread count seems to change only when she manipulates the e-mails on yahoo itself, not on the droid. She deletes e-mails on the phone, but the count stays the same until she deletes them off the yahoo server. any ideas?

The unread count where, on the phone or on yahoo's server?

You can go to menu - more and mark all read on the phone. I believe there is a setting that you have to check to delete from the server. I think it defaults to leaving it. You can delete from the phone but it will leave it on yahoo unless you tell it to delete it.
