Keeper or Not

I am still testing out the XL. So far I'm loving it. However, I'm thinking of returning it for the 128 model. Should I risk it?

If 64 isn't enough and you wish you had 128, go for it while you still can.
I have 128 and am very glad I bit the bullet when I did.
Right now I'm 33% used with plenty of elbow room.

They aren't that common. Many get duds with other phones but still go for them.

I think you let the toxic-ness of the internet articles get to you :P.

Ha ha ha I think you may be right about the toxic-ness getting to me.

If you think you'll keep the phone awhile and you'll use the storage I definitely say go for it.

I'm using more then usual right now but I truly just wanted to not have to think about storage. I plan to keep this until at least the Pixel 3.

I've been switching off and on the last few weeks with the Note 8 and Pixel 2 XL, and I think the Pixel is going on Swappa. If I wasn't using them side by side I'd probably keep the Pixel for the camera, fast finger print scanner a d speakers. But I prefer the Note 8 display, slightly bigger screen size, and just the over all feel.

I also have the Note 8 and Pixel XL 2 (work issued.) I received the Pixel XL 2 on the 21st and it has been my daily driver since. I am tempted to go back to the Note for it's feature rich environment but hard to leave pure Android and no messy Samsung Apps or Bixby to get in the way. The display is better on the Note 8 for sure and perhaps video may be better but hard to let go of 128GB of pure storage (no need for MicroSD) and the awesome camera.

I am on my second Pixel 2 XL and I am keeping this one over the Note 8 that I will give to my son. The first one had a terrible screen, so I sent it back; reordered and got a good one this time. The camera really put it over the top for me after taking tons of Christmas pictures with both. I like the results from the Pixel so much better! I actually like the look and feel of the Note better, but the camera and battery are much better on the Pixel. I want to keep both, but the wife would frown on that, lol.

I also have the Note 8. I bought the Pixel XL last week. and so far it's been a great experience. This is my first Pixel and all the hype about the camera is true. It produces pictures with so much detail. I have the 64 gb model but I'm going to return it. I order a 128 gb this morning and should be hear next week.

I am wondering if I have a "better" screen too having ordered it in late December. I've had no issues at all.

I have had mine for almost a month now, I KEEPING mine no doubt, this phone is amazing. The over blown crap with the screen is crazy, the blue-shift is not an issue at all, well for me. For me the screen is beautiful to me.

Also. the camera as we all know is incredible, that alone for me makes this phone the best. I left apple again for the Pixel and will never go back.

If I could do and even-Steven swap I'd get a Samsung 8+. My Pixel XL 2 is fine but I miss Samsung pay so much I ended up getting a Gear 3 Samsung watch. Now I discovered taking phone calls phone to watch does not work properly with Pixels.

I like the Samsung screen better, head phone jack option plus the camera and battery life are about the same. Since I use Nova Launcher, software experience and look and feel would be the same.

I guess I'll hang on to this phone and keep it in perfect condition and get the Samsung 9 next year.

The software experience is overrated in my personal opinion. Coming from the note 8, I don't think this is better. It's nice but it doesn't offer nearly as much as the note does. My 2 cents

If you use a 3rd party Nova launcher it all works the same. I can from a note edge and set up this phone exactly the same as the Edge except the Pixel is 3 years newer with better battery life and faster. As far as bloatware, hide it disable it, etc... it causes no harm and unless you OCD about apps on your phone you forget they exist.

What does the note 8 offer software wise that's any better? Samsung pay is about the only good thing but even I don't miss that, the screen was nice but also was far too saturated for my liking, where as the P2XL can be too far the other way but I prefer that myself.
I came from an S8 which isn't too far removed from the note, and much prefer the vanilla android experience. No glitches, no app freezes or asking you which app to use for what even though you've already set it to use one app plenty of times in the past. I'd also find when streaming to my Chromecast that the S8 would randomly think it's not connected, leaving the video playing but not allowing you any control of it until you closed the app and went back in and connected again just to stop a video or to disconnect properly. It wasn't a faulty phone either as it does it with the gf's S8 too which she still uses as bought it on contract where as mine was unlocked and device only.
