Keeps deleting everything i write

Maybe it's because you haven't leaned to use punctuation, capitalization or proof reading yet? Just a guess.

Or maybe it's the fact everytime i do proof read and realise ive made a mistake i cant edit it because it will delete my whole message

Let's take it easy. No needless insults or name calling. Thanks.

I'd say factory reset this tablet, and if the keyboard continues its shenanigans, return it for exchange.

Like I said, people, settle down. OP's asking for help. There's no call for insults or namecalling. That's what gets threads locked.

We're here to help and support. I prefer to keep threads open, mainly because I'm a big believer in crowd sourcing stuff and allowing folks to get the answers they need.

And also because karma and that terrible Spacey film Pay it Forward. :)

Hiya, just an update on this I did do a factory reset on my tab but it was still doing the same thing and was deleting everything so just gave up. But I saw a thread on here about what browsers to use and downloaded Google chrome (I was using Mozilla Firefox) and it's not doing it anymore! So it must have been a glitch with Firefox or something? But I've deleted that now and will be using Chrome from now on.

Thanks everyone for all the help you gave me :-)

On two apps, my N7 is doing wonky things... before go into what is happening, I am running stock everything rom wise, have unlocked bootloader and am using SmartKeyboard Pro...

1. Listia auction app... when commenting on an auction, randomly (and very often) the cursor jumps to the beginning of the line while typing... makes it impossible to type a few words...

2. Zynga Poker... when chatting, backspace often deletes more than one character...

Any thoughts?

That's really odd. You said this was happening in mail, Facebook, Twitter ... were you accessing all these with Firefox, or are those separate apps? Really perplexing that a web browser would muck about with the on-screen keyboard behavior.

Color me confused.

Something else confusing .. he said that he downloaded Chrome... AFAIK, you can't download it on the N7 ... it's there and cannot be removed...

My guess: end user problems using system... system is fine...

Are we even sure we're dealing with an N7 here?

Uhm first off I'm not a he I'm a she.

Secondly on the thread I seen someone posted a link to chrome where it gave me the option to download it. It said downloaded and then it was in my apps or whatever I don't know if I'd had it before but I still downloaded it.

Thirdly I am not some spastic that doesnt know what tablet I am using. If I was using an iPad or something do you really think I'd be on this forum asking?

I have better things to do than make up that a tablet (which I apparently don't have) is having problems with its keyboard. Seriously

It's a Firefox problem. If you would have mentioned that in the first place you would have had your answer. Read the comments on the play store and you will see other people have had that problem.

Well sorry no one asked so I didn't think it was relevant. I thought everyone used Firefox and didn't know there was a different one to use so didn't think I had to mention what I was using.

Actually I never considered that you would be doing it intentionally or with malice... I was thinking more along the line of technical incompetence given how it never dawned on you to be more clear about the conditions present such as the fact that you were using the mobile web instead of apps...

Based on how you locked another thread and your general attitude, my perception seems to be mostly validated...

It was possibly an update, as there was one on September 26 and if the user never went to the play store, it would never have updated.

Chrome can be uninstalled.

At least the problem is solved, though generally the more info given, the easier it is to diagnose :-)

Why you saying I locked a thread when I clearly didn't? In don't even know how to do that for starters and I even asked someone else if it was locked for them and it wasn't. I told u I didn't lock it and even if I knew how to I'm not that childish. Looks like someone's making up lies to cause an needless argument for some strange reason .

Ugh on e-mails anything twitter facebook if i'm chatting to someone i try and delete one letter of a word and it deletes the whole message! I just spent ages writing a message out and i made one type pressed backspace and it deleted the whole thing omg, please help why is it doing this how do i change it so annoying !!!

This is what led me away from being a browser issue. In future, being explicit about what you're doing and what app you're doing it in will help others to help find a solution. I would read the free Guidebook (in Play Books store), it will better familiarize you with all the functions of your Nexus 7. :)

You must have a side of you that you are unaware of.
